If that's true they surely would have just bought Liverpool as planned because nufc was bought instead because of the prices. Probably a bit of both?
They probably learned about all the whinging scousers do and decided against it. You weren't as high profile, so they would have less attention on them at the start. A country with unlimited funds dont care about making a few hundred million over a decade or whatever, but they do care about being seen as a welcoming friendly nation that folk will visit and happily trade with. They know oil wont be around forever.
don’t be silly. Every time I see a show about Blackpool there are always people wearing Newcastle shirts. That’s a massive untapped market they are sitting on.

This is certainly partially, not absolutely the case. They'll grow the club into a massive, globally successful and powerful force. They'll be able to promote their own businesses (not agendas or State laws) through it, and it will make them money. It will also make them more visible in an acceptable way. They'll do it all legally, and the only people that will be in uproar about it are jealous rival ownerships and fan bases. Absolutely glorious. We got a bit of luck for once.
There were other options. Fact is, the priority is get rid of the stench of the Glazers, so no one cares who comes in any more.
Fact is, the Glazers were going to sell to the highest bidder. Just a shame it wasn’t the British bloke, he could have been good for United.
He’s not that fking nuts surely……..failed to get the jewel of Manchester so I’m not sure buying a turd from Liverpool has the same ring to it
I think he's been used to bump up the price....I can't see anyone beating the qataris to the purchase.
