Everton are like me whenever I walk into a designer clothes store. "Excuse me. How much is this?... HOW MUCH?! Oh okay, not today then, I'll keep looking."
If we don't get involved in the Piroe deal then that indicates to me that Adams > Everton is off. Personally I'd rather sign Piroe and sell Adams rather than let him go on a free in the summer;. But if he were to sign a new deal then that is probably the best case scenario for us.
I was going to ask a general question about what people would prefer given the Adams to Everton deal looks off. I do wonder whether Wolves or Bournemouth will come in given departures of Nunes and Solanke. Given what happened with Aarons I’d expect Bournemouth end up going in for Piroe
I know it’s early in the season, but if we were both in for Piroe I feel like we have the much stronger hand. - Knows the manager. - Totally familiar with the tactics that are proven to suit him as a player. - Very early, but we have had the better start to the season. - Can’t see Leeds beating us on the finances of any deal. So he’ll be going to Leeds then.
Yep. And they have one in ours I just reckon they are more likely to look at how we are potentially planning on replacing Adams for the same price with a younger Piroe and think “we’ll just do that” Kind of like how clubs should really just try and find out who Brighton are signing before they get them
I'll be sad to see him go as he's 'one of our own', but he's never reached the heights of his first game since. He's extremely versatile, can play all across the back and up both wings, will do well in the Championship.
Ideally both, the club will need to weigh up the likelihood of Adams signing a new deal. If he isn’t firmly interested I think we should sign Piroe regardless for security going forward. Of course it’s easy to say when I don’t manage the books.
Absolutely no idea, but he was successful last season and hopefully a successful player = a happy player. If RMs approach helped him to score then you’d imagine he would be favourable towards resuming work with him.
I don't honestly see why it has to be Adams or Piroe. They're different types of striker. TBH if we end up with both in September good luck to everyone else.
He was tidy with the ball, a lot of fans wanted to see him given more of a chance and are a bit sad to see him go, but wasn't quite at the level we needed to fill the hole Rice left. He'll do well with you this season, and when you come back up next.
Jeez! I hope all the Swansea first team players have got someone after them or Duff thinks they’re useless
Because Joel Piroe is not moving clubs to a team that plays one up front and already has Ché Adams and Adam Armstrong already playing there.
Piroe can play wide. He's not an out and out CF like Adams. Admittedly we're not exactly lacking for options there either but if we sell Sulemana or Tella he'd be a good replacement for them. And he'd be an upgrade on Edozie.
