Good Morning. It's Thursday 24th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds pin hopes on Piroe Leeds Director of Football Gretar Steinsson has held talks with Joel Piroe's agent to discuss personal terms, in preparation for a late splurge on the transfer market. If media sources are to be believed, Leeds have also tabled a £10m bid for the former PSV youngster. He has recently entered the final year of his contract, and despite rumours to the contrary from earlier in the Summer, shows no signs of extending his stay in South West Wales. The Jacks risk their star asset leaving for nothing next Summer, but as we know, goal scorers are hard to find. Piroe has attracted the attention of Leicester City, Southampton and Everton this Summer, yet Leeds seem content to put all their eggs in one basket! The relationship between Leeds and Swansea remains strained, following Dan James' aborted move on (January) transfer deadline day, four years ago. Swans Chairman at the time Huw Jenkins, decided to pull the plug at the 11th hour, refusing to answer the phone to sanction the deal, whilst 270 miles up the road, James was already being paraded around Elland Road like a film star. Jenkins believed they could get more money, from a superior club,a decision that cost him his job. Embarrassingly for all parties, James' press conference was cut short, and had to make his way back to Swansea. Can Leeds trust Swansea? The clock is ticking, and only eight days of the transfer window remain. please log in to view this image Late flurry of players won't detract from 'transfer window from hell' The personnel may be different, but Leeds just don't seem to learn by their mistakes, especially when it comes to last minute transfers! Putting the Dan James fiasco to one side, I'm sure we all remember Victor Orta's last minute dash to Eindhoven this time last year, to give Cody Gakpo a lift to West Yorkshire. If the deal hadn't been put together with such haste, perhaps there may have been a different outcome; one that could have changed our fortunes last season? What ensued, was insane. A fleet of private planes were flying aimlessly all around Europe looking for a striker (it would be enough to give environmentalist Greta Thunberg a stroke). In the end, Leeds settled for a little known talent in Zurich, and bought his transfer forward four months. Leeds present predicament is a lot more serious than twelve months ago. Players have departed en masse this Summer, even leaving Daniel Farke unable to name a full compliment of substitutes. Perhaps the club are deliberately waiting until the last minute to unveil a late flurry of players, as a way to detract from what has been the transfer window from hell! please log in to view this image Djed Spence on Leeds radar Leeds are considering a move for Spurs right back Djed Spence. The 23yo, a £19m signature from Middlesbrough a year ago, has failed to settle in North London, and is considering his options. He is not part of Ange Postecoglou's plans, and can leave the club if the money is right. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Rennes, where he made 8 appearances. His availability comes at the same time that West Ham, Crystal Palace, Luton Town and Southampton are paying special attention to Cody Drameh. The 21yo has just entered the final year of his contract; and it doesn't look likely he will put pen to paper any time soon. Selling him would make it slightly easier to put a package together for Spence. please log in to view this image
Imminent speculation...... anyway for emu, before his daily culinary and entertainment report. Bury.... weather dull Breakfast.... cereal (granola) coffee and toasted muffin (barm, bap, flour cake etc) in bury it's a muffin ...with honey. Stroll into town 5 minutes to pick up daily metro rag specifically for crossword, stroll back slightly different route to watch local wasters, never worked, scrotes waiting for Christian community centre to hand out free food so most can sell it on . Spend some of morning carrying on reading book about football mavericks, great read regarding fabulous players I had the pleasure in watching..Currie,bowlers, Worthington, Osgood etc proper players. Afternoon spent hoping Mrs old will do the shepherds pie I've been cajoling her for this last two days, it's reet good . Tonight. don't go to bed those signings are very, very, imminent so wait up with a bottle of sauvignon blanc at the ready
Morning all. Another near week gone by and no more signings.. fingers crossed someone comes in before this weekends match.. not holding my breath though.
Good morning everyone Can't wait, edge of your seat stuff now, for the new imminent star signings to propel us to the PL.
Reality check, none of us are realy expecting any great news any time soon, that's what makes it interesting, because if their was by some miracle, positive activity before the window closes, everyone to do with Leeds would breath a huge sigh of relief, and confirm the 49'rs are the best thing since sliced bread.
Doesn't sound like alot is happening at Leeds. Here we go...latest from Spain. Gobby scouser couldn't score a point past me at the net in the water volleyball yesterday afternoon. Don't think he appreciated the 'unlucky mate!' I kept saying everytime I blocked him at the net. Had a lovely meal last night at some kind of American diner/tapas place. Mrs Emu and Emu junior went for the burger and chips. I decided to go for the squid with salad and papas arrugadas with red mojo sauce. There were some little fishes I ordered too but they still had head and tails on so I ****ed them off and the wife ate them. She's german and knew what they were, no wonder she recommended them the greedy bint. Walked along the beach front to the next 'zone' of shops. Bought a few little ornamental bits and bats for my little football den at the back of the house. I found the strip club but Mrs Emu seemed a bit upset when I suggested that I'd meet up with them later so had to give it a miss. Slept in, no run, continental breakfast with orange juice and coffee. Had a nap in the sun before meandering down the beach to play in the waves with my boy. Came back and did the pool aerobics thing which amused the wife very much and embarrassed the boy. Now back on me lounger drying off dreaming of dinner. I'm thinking tuna steak and salad and then a visit to the pastry shop later this afternoon. I notice the owner bought a new car yesterday and I think I've funded the ****ing thing. Anyway, 13:30 here. Wind has dropped today and its around 32C in the shade. Shorts are nearly dry so nearly lunch time. Might have to put me brolly up soon because of the heat. Hope everything is tickety boo back in England. Hope the weather isn't too grey. I'd kill for 5 minutes at 15C just to ease this heat for a bit. I'm sweating me bollocks off here. Regards, please log in to view this image
Morning all. What could possibly go wrong https://x.com/fabrizioromano/status/1694676872896868585?s=46&t=xSZiK2Vhq9NQTsfPGBk7mQ
You can't store talc in a quality 'Character Property'. The roof probably leaks (part of the charm of an on-suite shower, as Elland would say) and the product wouldn't work very well. Stick to boats...... oh maybe not. https://www.sussexexpress.co.uk/new...5-million-found-on-boat-in-eastbourne-4036518
Piroe would be a great signing. Joking aside, the 7-8 million we spent on Ampadu looks like the Championship signing of the season thus far. Rondon looks like a really good loan deal. Up there with the best loan deals made if he replicates his Swansea form at this level. Piroe would give us the most consistent striker at this level. Darlow was an absolute bargain at 400k when Bournemouth offered far more money. The business that we have done so far has been very good (the stuff we can control). There's just not been enough of it.
@Eireleeds1. Question. Are all the Spanish ladies wearing thongs over your end? It's fantastic down here!
Don't think Eire has had a thong near his end for a while, just guessing, not in the know to be honest.
