I think they tend to understate all fees a bit but I don't think that would change the order of the table.

Sounds like de Paul’s rejected their offer, so as of now Hojbjerg is likely to stay. Not mad about that though, good player just not really suited to the system and won’t play as much as he’d probably like.

Al-Ittihad are reportedly willing to let Jota leave on a free in spite signing him just last month, due to nobody at the club paying attention to how many overseas players they were signing until they realised that signing him, Benzema, Kante, and Fabinho in short order, coupled with having a handful of overseas players already in the squad before Bonesaw McGraw dumped a load of cash into their laps

Given he was working with Ange at Celtic, expect to see us linked with him shortly...

Conflicting reports coming out of various Belgian sources
- De Morgen claim that, in spite us being in close contact with his entourage, he prefers a move to Lille - but Lille can't stump up the €30m needed while we're saying we need to trim the squad before making a move
- Voetballkrant, meanwhile, have made the baffling claim that we are put off by the €30m pricetag as he's a prospect for the future and not a quick fix

On the one hand both need a handful of salt at least, especially Voetballkrant's which sounds utterly baffling, and it has to be said neither are particularly trusted sources when it comes to Gent

On the other, there is at least a kernel of credibility to De Morgen's claim, for a couple of reasons
i.) It wouldn't be the first time a player blew up when moving from the Belgian league to Lille, as Victor Osimhen and Jonathan David have both done it in recent years, with David even following the same Gent > Lille path that Orban allegedly has an eye on
ii.) Jonathan David being linked with us going from whispers a week or two ago almost entirely Rudy Galetti and Ben Jacobs down in Tier 4, to Romano mentioning we see him as a viable target on his podcast in the last day or so, could explain it - and that also fits in with the talk of trimming the squad, because then we could have a decision on whether the money we have could be put towards the €51m Lille expect for David or the €30m Gent are asking for Orban

Just over a week to go in the window and still glaring squad holes to fill, will Levy spend the Kane money Power or has it already been spent?

 

Shifting players is top of the agenda at the moment, and that’s causing all manner of issues, for example
- Hugo doesn't want to join Nazio as he'd be second choice
- Dier wants to stay, in spite interest from Fulham
- Reguilon is wanted by Real Sociedad, but they can only afford a loan
- Ndombele has interest from Turkey, but doesn't seem bothered
- Sanchez interest seems to have dried up compared to 3-4 weeks ago
- Spence seems to be destined to be part of the Brennan Johnson deal

TBH my main concern is the lack of loans for the U21s, as a few players such as Dane Scarlett, Nile John and Troy Parrott need first team football but we don't seem to be working towards that

 

Not even just the squad, we need a new ST/ CF for the starting XI.

I do think we’ll see some late action though.

Ideally 5-6 head out, hopefully more but reckon it’s doubtful, whilst a CB, a forward of some sort and a CM if Hojbjerg departs come in. Be a decent window if that happens too.

 

Brennan Johnson is starting to pick up steam

Begs the question who we send Forest's way, given they've been linked with both Spence and Ndombele in the last couple of weeks

TBH, if we manage to somehow get Ndombele off our wage bill and onto Forest's while Johnson comes our way, that would surely be a Top 3 Levying of all time
