Europa league this season might be a blessing in disguise. More games but they're likely to be fixtures where we can afford to rotate the squad players and minimise the likelihood of injuries. Squad still feels a bit short defensively though
it is but as you said. does it matter. is it worse that city? our first 11 is fairly clear but our system of player and balance is not. we seem to be a bit all over the place. if we can get it together a bit (not saying as good as or like but) similar to how city took a couple mot hs to get it together last year then we have the talent to fly. we just have to "get it together" but for me this is a leavue plus europa only season the kids must play the cups and when they go out they go out.
That is true, but not for most clubs competing for the top four. City could field two teams to fight for first if no injuries.
I agree and I think it'll be a few more years before nufc achieves it again, but the fact is that it's possible to finish top 4 without 22 players on the same level.
The seasons where we managed to stick to Man City's coat tails and even beat them once - we were so good that we could either put games to bed early on or manage games and the squad late on and still get 3 points most of the time. That kind of squad only comes along once in a generation without City's level of investment though.
Newcastle can score Liverpool also can score .Newcastle can defend, I am not sure Liverpool can defend.
