Yeh I mean Acun said we were in the final stages which I presumed is a medical and the signature. Baz said in his article that it was just formalities that were expected to be done by Friday, again sounds like medical and signature. Not sure what else it could be or what might hold that up, hopefully thats all happening today but I guess it is possible he fancied some lunch.
Leeds are a terrible example as they actually haven't done much business at all. Leicester and Southampton have sold multiple players for 40m+ as well so not as if they're using the parachutes to fund those.

Whilst I think you're absolutely right on the whole, I do think regarding your last sentence that City fans underestimate our own chances of competing at the top of the division and some of these players will be attracted to us in part because they do believe in it.
That's exactly why I said on paper, which of course can be totally different to reality and often is in the championship. I think our chances are improving with every signing we make. But until the window closes we really won't know for sure
