Obrien is good at this level, lacks a bit of athleticism for the prem - surprised he couldn’t make a gash forest team though
I wouldn't assume that people falling down a pecking order automatically means that they're crap. They may not fit the system, the manger has their own views, they may not see eye to eye with the manager etc etc. Let's see them be crap before we decide they're crap. Usually takes 3 mins into the first game before the fans think they have enough info to put them into the love or hate box.
Problem is though if you sign someone else's crap on a 4 year deal that's got to be considered high risk. In fact the selling club should be making the deal super sweet smelling crap for it to happen. That's if they are actually crap of course.
Reminds me of a Forshaw that doesn't get injured after 20 minutes. Was great for Huddersfield. Hasn't had a chance in Forests huge squad. Excelled on loan earlier this year next to Klich at DC United. Klich has raved about him and has said that he's one of the best players he has played with. He's not too old at 24. We would recoup the £6 or £7 million we need to pay if we sold him on later.
I'm at the stage where I don't care who we sign just so long as they are not a complete muppet to paraphrase Hatchet Harry.
The comment about O’Brian not being good enough sums up this whole tranny window. Most of us would be happy with O’Brian as we wanted him before but refused to pay the fee wanted. A while later he was signed by Forest when they did their supermarket sweep. Turns out they had 3 players too many so they wanted to send out 3 players on loan. 2 got completed but Blackburn messed about so O’Brian wasn’t done in time, so he went to DC United on loan. Jammy loves to stick up for the club by saying we obviously want better so playing the long game. No dont think so just think we have been shyt because we have no money and now we have a few quid everyone will be quoting higher than normal prices. Leicester and Southampton are chasing the same players like Piroe but they are way better off than us because they got cash in, lots of cash for their players, we didn’t. I think our club is in crisis thanks to relegation, relegation clause deals and expecting kids to step up and replace 14 first teamers. 4 have been replaced so far….. kids we thought were not good enough for the first team last season are somehow deemed to be ok this season?
Signing O'Brien will be complicated though Doc due to him only being a year into his PL contract with them. We're certainly not going to be paying PL wages and neither is anyone else that might want him. Forest therefore have to find a solution and the closer we get to the end of the window the more likely it is they'll be forced into a financial compromise. Put bluntly it's going to cost them to get rid of a player they shouldn't have signed. Forest said they want to loan him out but clubs like ours are rightly waiting to see of there's a better deal to be done. If not then maybe we move on to other targets.
Yep and this is why I don't mind leaving incoming until the last minute. Yes it's a gamble, yes it can go wrong but if the 49ers get it right then we can get some very good players in on very cheap deals. With O'Brien it might be a last minute loan where Forest pay half his wages for instance. It's basically who blinks first.
next game is Ipswich away a team fresh from promotion and playing well with a settled side.without a striker we will lose this game and maybe get thrashed.
Ben is going with his mate Oscar, an Ipswich fan. In with the home fans and admits he isn't overly looking forward to this one!
Has Sinisterra knocked back Brentford or was it the club? They are now chasing £40m winger Nico Gonzales
