Happy for Leeds to get Piroe if it means we can have Archer. Also, writing off Mara already is mad. He's so young still, and while he looked a bit lost at times last season, he also showed moments of real quality. If he was a one-of-our-own academy product, we'd all be bigging him up. Only worry for me is his attitude.
There doesn’t seem to be any guarantee of Archer. And it seems like Piroe is used to the system. They seem like very different players. What sort of system did Archer thrive in last year and the one before? Didn’t he pair up with Akpom? Can he lead the line on his own? I’m skeptical because of the source. Overwhelmingly and staggeringly biased towards northern clubs and shockingly thin skinned for a journalist using Twitter. It’ll be the worst day of his life when Musk stops him being able to block people who tell him he might be wrong If the Adams deal is truly just down to payment structure then we should be bidding for the replacement or already have done. I do wonder if we were ever interested or whether it was all just a 2+2 link due to the need for a striker and who our manager is. As for Mara - I thought most were advocating loaning him out rather than writing him off through selling him
Archer just looks quality. Can't say I watched Boro much, but I watched him for England u21s and he is a future star for sure. Will no doubt be a Prem-level striker soon. Despite being a few years younger than Piroe, and playing for a team on loan rather than being settled at the same club for over a year, his goals per minute rate last season was 1 goal every 125 minutes, while Piroe's was 1 goal every 200 minutes.
Don’t Leicester still have Daka, Ihenacho and Vardy? All on big money. Likely bigger than any of our players. I assume at least one will be moved on
And I had heard there is Prem interest in Ihenacho. I think from Palace. Surprised a Saudi club hasn’t tried for Vardy but he probably isn’t interested in that
Vardy could end up with a Championship winners medal to go with his Premier League winners medal (and FA cup). Doubt there are many players who have achieved that.
Leeds are going to throw money around in the next week or so, proper panic stations based on their start and how the summer has gone so far.
TBH given how much we've made from player sales we could probably blow their offer out of the water if we so chose.
Do they actually have the money to throw around? They haven’t spent much so far and haven’t recouped much so far either. And the more negative minded posters on various saints platforms are convinced that relegation means a 100m hole that MUST be filled by sales before further investment can be made. I know this isn’t true but Leeds don’t seem to be close filling any kind of hole at all. Let alone one as theoretically large as theorised. And weren’t their finances already worse than ours? (Could be wrong on that)
He already has one. Plus a Northern Premier League Premier Division and a Conference National medal. Now that is a combination.
