I do the God Father's once a year. 3 gets a bad rep but it was poorly directed. Should've been better as it had a canny plot. Shouldn't really have been made if they weren't sure about it. In the book, Michael dies in 1997, could've done so much more with the films.
I've just sat and been blown away by a film on Netflix staring Jason Sudeikis and Ed Harris. "Kodachrome" 2018. Harris is a world famous photographer that chose his career over family. He has travelled the world taking photos in warzones, Africa, Asisa and for presidents.Jason Sudeikis plays his astranged Son who works for a record label. The film is set sometime in the mid to late 2000s but never actually specifies. Kodac as a company is finished and Ed Harris (Ben) has 4 roles of film that he has had for years, his "best work", that needs developing by the only company left developing his specific film roles, its closing its doors for the last time in 5 days time in Tennessee and wants Sudeikis (Matt) to go with him...... Ben lives in New york. Ben is dying of Cancer and wants to drive from New York to tennessee to get it developed. Absolutely worth a watch. Harris is brilliant He plays a self centered, cantankerous bellend that doesn't give a s**t. It's go love, 2nd chances, last chances, regret, sorry, longing and the right amount of a humour so its not full blown downer, drama, laughs and cries. It has a mid 2000s vibe to it and a sound track similar to Good Will hunting, that easy going middle of the road haunting sound with some cracking scenery in it. I honestly can't believe I haven't heard of it or seen it yet. Can't recommend it enough. 1 hour 40 run time.
Just watched it and thought it an excellent film, well acted and thoroughly believable. The slides at the end got me! See if you can find anymore mate.
Glad you enjoyed bud. The film that needed developing were obvious as to what they're going to be but I really enjoyed this one. Did you see what I meant about the music, middle of the road 90s music in my small review? lol. I'll definitely post when I find another gem mate.
Wasn't aware of that one. Cheers. Sudeikis has just been on Brett Goldsteins (aka Roy fekkin Kent) podcast, Films to be buried with.
I have to watch with subs now because of all the mumbled lines and the same went for songs, I didn't pay attention to the lyrics but the clips of music and the lyrics really blended to add to and enhance the story line. You may just have unlocked a new dimension to viewing. Cheers.
I was meaning the vive of the music..I couldn't tell you what the songs were. Glad you enjoyed it mate.
Watchmen is on Sky now. I quite like it, Rawshack is quality. I like Sin City as well, interesting was to tell the story in that one with the narration over the top of the movie.
