Just to be clear, I'm not a Firpo hater. I think he'll be a positive force this season. The Championship roughhouse is perfect for him. Lower standard, heavy contact, plus the new rules make it even rougher. Doubt he'll get more than 20 yellows & 5 reds.
Cooper, Bamford, Ayling, Dallas, Meslier and Struijk as well as Firpo have been dogshit for the last 2 seasons. Injured mostly, passengers and noble to stop the rot. Yes they were brilliant for us for a couple of seasons in the championship and then a season in the premier league. But after that they were all dogshit and here we go again. Firpo injured, Cooper injured, Dallas injured, Bamford injured. One decent performance from Struijk and Ayling. We have to move on as these players will not be capable of helping us week in week out. In fact in the Championship the requirements for defenders are totally different. There are no Saka's, Salah's, Foden's or Haaland's. Our boys will be fine
