they do all make mistakes mate. That’s why those of us who like to present a fair and balanced argument show stats that demonstrate that mes makes more than most we’re trying to offload him and he wants to go. So don’t sing his praises too much… If we/he finds another club, you’ll be calling him a rat and suggesting we tar and feather him.
Not at all. Meslier has served his time with us and if we can get a decent fee for him I'd be happy for the lad.
It's the players who've signed 4 year contracts with us and then jump ship after 20 odd games that are the ****ers in my book.
Meslier, there has a been a lot of keeper merry go round this transfer window. De Gea, onana Cortouis acl injury, Real madrid sign kepa Bono to saudi etc etc I never once saw mesliers name in any transfer clickbait rumour.
… we keep offering him to clubs este but so far they keep saying thanks but no thanks. Maybe we’ll offload him to a panic buyer on deadline day.
4 year contracts with 60% pay cuts on relegation - surely the rats are the ones without the clauses who are still angling for exits - I was winding you up jambo - but genuinely I think there’s an argument that a guy who has piggy backed the good times then pushes to leave when it goes to sh*t is worse than someone who took a chance that didn’t work out and then does what his contract tells him to.
Contract speculation is the worst don't you think but aren't you pushing it to the limit with the clause that tells them to leave ?
Yup that’s what I was implying… but think the ones angling for a move without the clause are worse than ones legitimately leaving with the clause.
So by your logic Phillips and Raphinha are worse than those that took us down and have now fooked off ?
Nope. You have out CEO saying we need to knock huge chunks off the wage bill in the champ. The fact that we have the harshest % wage cuts on relegation hasn’t been disputed by anyone. How do you think it was sold in the negotiations? It’s a get out of jail free card jambo. No one in their right mind would stay on less than half wages if they could find someone who’d pay 100%. I’m sure we hoped it would never happen but…
There is no way the club wanted to sell Raphina at that moment in time, however due to the fact he was never going to sign a new contract the decision was made to take the money. If he'd been happy to stay we'd have kept him 100%.
oh he wanted to play for his dream team but we wanted the money to buy Jessie’s mates… mutually beneficial. And Raph didn’t relegate us did he. He bust his balls to keep us up when he could have relegated us and made his switch easier… and probably turned a profit on it. I repeat - the people who ride the coat tails of the great MB from obscurity to spotlight and then push for a move without a contractual clause for it when things go south are worse than those who were sold a pup but given an escape route. In truth I don’t really blame any of them - they’re not fans. It’s just a career and a short one. Mes isn’t downing tools like Gnonto - I just think the vitriol at the loan guys is a bit ridiculous if you take your Leeds specs off.
