We shouldn't be surprised really. After all serving police officers get away with rape in this country so we shouldn't be surprised when the rich n famous do
TBH anyone who can afford a really good lawyer can almost expect to be found not guilty of rape these days.
If videos and sound recordings don’t count as proof, I have no idea what would. The fact he has gotten away with it is ridiculous in itself. The fact United considered letting him get away with playing again is truly disgraceful
Does anyone think they understand where the claim he is innocent comes from? I am stuck thinking about it and I really cannot understand how it works. What is his defence?
Already seen comments from fans of various teams hoping they sign him. Can see him being back in the fold at some club soon
Imagine being that kid. You get to teenage years and hear that video of your parents. Awful. It's them I truly feel sorry for.
But she has a black eye, leaves him, puts it online. I mean roleplay needs both people to be playing.
Surely no English club would be that stupid? Think he'll end up in Saudi and United will be up for that as they won't take the hit.
This stuff makes me sad. Sad for society in general. The amount of rough porn young men are watching. The people telling men they are kings and women like to be treated like bitches. Music and culture in which sex is a power game. This stuff getting out there and then being told he did nothing wrong. Genuinely depressing.
Yeah you’d think not, there obviously is previous with other players and clubs reactions so clubs will know exactly what they get themselves into. He is obviously a very talented player so it wouldn’t surprise me if a club did decide to do it
Years ago, a friend called us late at night screaming. Her husband was trying to kill her. We called the police and went round as quick as we could. She was locked in the bathroom with her baby, thankfully. The police came and arrested him. He was having some kind of psychotic break. Anyway, within two days she was begging the police not to prosecute. They did. They saw it first hand and we were willing to give evidence too. But it is amazing how loyal women can be to truly terrible men.
It's remarkably common for people to protect the abusers and it sickens me how many people (deliberately?) don't realise that and say things like "oh well why didn't they press charges of leave?"
Doubly difficult if you're accusing a public figure. Your details will invariably leak and you're going to face a lot of scrutiny, you're likely going to get death threats from unhinged 'fans', there really isn't much upside from a personal standpoint to pursue it. You have to sacrifice an awful lot in the hopes that justice will be served...while knowing that the other party has sufficient resources to make them much less than certain.
I had forgotten how hideous the Sky coverage of Premier League games is. Every Arsenal player is discussed on his merit and every Palace player is discussed in terms of which other club might get him.
