That club statement. Yeah, so like, he didn't do it, but he might have done some other stuff but we're not going to worry too much about that. Apparently Mason made some mistakes, what were they then?
This whole 'I didn't do what I was accused of line' is odd. If that was me, I'd definitely be suing for defamation considering I'd lost my lucrative contract.
He has been paid all the way through this and had the remainder of his contract paid as part of the agreement. So from a man utd contract it would be a pointless case, he could argue he's lost out on sponsorship deals and future earning u suppose. But I'm not sure it would be wise for him
I don't think his name will ever be cleared. No matter what he does. If he's serious about his career then he should just get on with that as quietly as possible
Well, quite. Which is why I'm puzzled by the 'I didn't do what I was accused of'. I'd be wanting to clear my name of that if I hadn't. I'd be desperate.
He could be looking at it that those close to him, his partner his family etc all believe and or agree he didn't do it so that's good enough for him. Maybe he doesn't want to waste time money etc and dragging his partner and family through more pain just to try and silence people/social media who he will never know/meet and mean anything to him, who lets be fair no matter what happens will ever forget what's happened or change their mind
I appreciate that, but that's his Premier League and International career finished as it is. If it was me and I'd worked so hard for that, and I really hadn't done those things and could prove it in a defamation case, I'd want to at least try. I think if he won that a lot of people would think twice. But those recordings will be tricky to bypass.
Everyone is different, maybe he's just going to love abroad and just forgot about it all ( at least try to ) and build a life for his child. I suppose for people like you and I, financially an accusation like that would ruin us and maybe the defamation route could be the only route we had for providing for our family. But mason will get another gig elsewhere for silly money.
Yep you're right about that. For me, it'd be reputation over everything (especially in a case like this).
Id like to say the same, but I'd also have to put my families health, security and wellbeing above my personal needs. Over and above it all, I doubt we'd put ourselfs in this situation to begin with
I’ve said it all along, but I’m not sure even they’d want that kind of publicity on their shiny new toy. It’ll definitely be some backwater place for a few years. For me, despite what the girl released on social media, she is the reason he’s not been convicted, therefore he should be allowed to continue his career. If I was a Utd fan, I’d be gutted at losing him, when the current options are Martial & Rashford, then the new striker with a broken back.
