Exactly. I’m not going for a pint with the bloke so as long as he has Sunderland on an upward trajectory I do not care what his personality is.

I actually think he's probably a sound bloke, he certainly seems to be able to charm a pretty high calibre of player. I just don't think we see that side of him because he's a pro and we don't need to.

It’s s difficult job Speakman has. He provides a really clear way forward and it’s mostly working. It’s been too rigid though which has cost us short term and has been frustrating and in a way has disempowered the coaches so I get the tension, but I think that if we stick with it we’ll probably keep growing financially and otherwise. A bit more cumulative than immediate. Can see why his patter pisses off the straight talking though. He talks like a politician.

For someone who is supposedly close to the club you appear to not like a number of people there? Do you say it to their faces or just on here?

We've clashed on a few things in a relatively friendly way, mainly 09, and I'm still not 100% sure that you're not either his mam or dad:emoticon-0143-smirk, however, still one of me favorite posters and you've nailed this. Speakman's job is not to be popular, but he defo seems to be getting most of the right people onside and at this point, judging on his merits...he's winning. I've got my reservations re strikers... but I'm totally open to him being a legend and he's playing the long game and I'm just a daft fan. He'll live or die by his choices. I've said it before...he's seems to be a risk taker and as a general rule, I like that.

If you knew him, you would know how arrogant he is.
I ain't interested in driving him away, I just want clarity from the top table, so the fans know where we are going, and with who as gaffer.
    Nowt wrong with that.

With respect. @Bob the Mackem makes an interesting point. By all accounts things are not well and everyone is not signing from the same sheet. Tensions are high behind the scenes.

Needs addressing quickly IMO. I think Tone has already shown some cracks. More raging on the sidelines and his interviews are really on the low side. Even after Rotherham he was talking as if we got beat.

It'll settle down when we get a few wins on the board.
It's funny how these type of stories come up when we are on a poor run.
That said we could be 10 points clear at the top of the league and you'd still get someone saying we should be 20 points clear :emoticon-0140-rofl:

I agree, but this started at the end of last season, with TM list of players, and the foreign manager being touted, but yes a few wins does paper over the cracks.

1st off it was SD who I was closest to, we did loads together from 2001, he introduced me to Charlie at the German fiasco period.
CM never ran the club, he just did what the accountants and SD told him to do.

A striker, a cdm and a few more wins by the time the window shuts and all will be rosie.

Get the feeling there are.lots of twists and turns still to come in this window.

Lots of premier league teams still to make moves for players and championship clubs with lots of money to spend

There will always be tensions and / or disagreements in all relationships, business or otherwise. Personally I think a little disagreement from time to time is healthy if used correctly to evaluate / reevaluate your position.
As I said you only hear about it when things aren't going so well.

There is a caveat of course. The disagreement must be resolved, if not to all parties agreement at least to something that they can accept, it cannot be allowed to fester.

Surely as with all head coaches and managers that depends on results?

It was sad to see Mowbray looking so flat after the game Saturday mind. There was a lot more positivity last season. He’s clearly an emotional bloke but it’s not good practice by the club to make a manager so unhappy and worrying that it’s the second in two seasons. However sharp the plan is an unhappy key employee is not a good outcome.
