Thom Haye would be a great signing although there will be plenty of competition for his signing. He is expected to leave at some point tho, they’ve just signed Luke Brouwers to replace him. I have seen links to Toulouse, Besiktas and us.

Jack Cork would great too. Experienced 6” foot holding midfielder who just captained Burnley to the league. Haven’t seen any suggestions he will leave, but will be interesting to see if he gets any PL minutes before the end of the window. They are being linked with expensive young holding midfielders so he might decide to leave late in the window.

There is a glut of defensive midfielders right now (as Liverpool have found out) and I think that filters down to us.

Didn't he move to one of the Scottish clubs this summer?

Edit. Ignore me, clearly thinking of someone else

So. When Tony said we’d have someone in “tomorrow “ that was the proverbial tomorrow rather than the actual one?

My god you talk some ****. Since he came in we have went from midtable league one to finishing in the championship playoffs. You may not like him as a person but that means **** all. He has delivered results and deserves trust and time but as per certain parts of this fanbase are trying drive someone who is doing good at the club away. Baffling.

He (Speakman) seems to rub some people up the wrong way because he's got no interest in being one of the lads. I'm all for it personally.

From what I've heard he's great at talking to potential targets and getting them on board. I'm more than happy with him as front of house.

He does a lot more than that of course but it seems to be his personality that gets attacked the most. I don't see the problem.
