Depends heavily on incomings.... very heavily. The short amount of the time until the end of the window and the disaster last season fuels the concern. May well end up coming out of this way better but it is a very critical and nervy time. I think we are justified in being cautious. Perversely if we hadn't started the season so well we might be less on edge.
Selling your best striker for £15m when we have already brought in £150m in player sales is bad business. It is as simple as that. We also shouldnt be selling KWP or Tella. But as I've said, I won't pass judgement on this window until it is over. I just hope Wilcox has big plans for the next 10 days.
Yeah, and Sulemana and Alcaraz It’s still not completely beyond the realms of possibility that 10 players go between now and the end of the window. I assume not as that is full on football manager style but if you throw in a few of the players we want to get rid of (Onuachu, Aribo and Lyanco) on to those 5 that’s 8. ABK seems likely to be off, 9 then who knows. I don’t think that will happen as there just isn’t enough time to get in basically a whole new squad, but I can’t completely rule it out either
Glad I was out all afternoon to miss people losing their **** over something that was always likely to happen. Jesus Christ.
Huh? Don't think I've ever heard a single Saints fan claim Arma, Onuachu or Mara are better than Adams. He is clearly our best striker and has been since Ings left.
No-one is losing their ****. Don't overexaggerate. People are expressing their disagreement and disappointment at losing our best striker unnecessarily.
No, the comments I've read are definitely people losing their ****. Why not wait and see what happens? I trust SR to replace him if he does go. They need us back in the PL after all.
Why’s it unnecessary? Maybe we’ve got a first choice striker lined up, and then Adams would be second choice. My point being is that none of us no what is going on behind the scenes.
It's unnecessary because we don't need to sell, he's started the season on fire and Russell has been open and said he wants him to stay. We've made very good money this summer, so we don't need the income to balance the books or anything. Yes, we may sign someone better but as I said; it's a huge gamble and one I don't think we should take.
