I don't think there should be the death penalty across the board for all murders.
But, when a **** has admitted to mass murder and said they did it "because they're evil", no more time and expense should be wasted on them imo.

 

Probably wouldn’t have gone that well if we’d killed the Birmingham Six.

Capital punishment is actually incredibly expensive.

 

I understand. The problem is, in Letby's case, she's admitted to nothing. And it would deter other murderers from making any admissions before or after trial, if they thought they'd be hanged. Look at Wayne Couzins. No one deserves to live less than him, but he's never admitted a thing so far as I'm aware.

No plan, but if there was, it would certainly be cheaper than keeping someone in prison for life. Personally, I'm against the death penalty purely in case of miscarriage of justice

I’ve only had a quick look but a lot if the so called “extra costs” of capital punishment seem pretty weak and one sided.

 

Yeah you won’t find many well-researched articles talking up the merits of capital punishment.
