Prince William's office has announced that he will not be attending the World Cup Final on Sunday, citing 'carbon footprint issues' of flying half way round the world for a brief trip. Yes, that's the son of the monarch of Australia, who also happens to be the President of The FA... - would he have attended the Men's final had that been the case? Damn right he would! - what's the carbon footprint difference of an extra few passengers (in First Class) on a scheduled flight that would be flying in any case? - He has no other engagements in his very busy diary until mid-September and yet he clearly never had considered attending - as this could have been a decision made months ago and he could have created a State visit to bulk it out. WTF do we have a Monarchy, please remind me?
