Was just about to comment similar. It's the total lack of any depth that cost us a point today. Armstrong was basically the only forward threat whilst he was on the pitch. He was phenomenal and I don't say that lightly. He basically had no support the entire game and the substituon of colback to seemingly play in the hole behind him was strange at best, even he looked puzzled.
Can't knock the effort to be fair, it's just our squad is simply not good enough or deep enough. The last 10 mins summed it up perfectly. Usually it's the team that are losing that piles on the pressure and the opposition are on the back foot. Today it was us on the back foot cos we just didn't have any forwards left to play, Ipswich were pressuring us for the 2nd.

Ipswich won't go up, they've had a good start but they ain't all that.

Shambles feels a bit harsh. We definitely lost cohesion with the injuries/subs but Chair and Smyth were still a threat, it's just a shame we couldn't get Kolli involved enough. Absolutely we're still likely be in the relegation scrap but we have to be feeling a bit more optimistic than we were two weeks ago. Dykes would have made a big difference today.

Everyone seemed to put a shift in today. I said to the lad that we were playing like the away team, getting as many men, if not all, behind the play and hoping to spring an attack. It nearly worked to be fair but when Armstrong is piling forwards with the ball, there's no support whatsoever. Tactically it was quite negative in hindsight. The effort can't be questioned and it certainly was an improvement on any game last season under Ainsworth. I'm sure he would love to add to the squad, he needs to otherwise most games will go this way but that's down to the owners. Ipswich will finish mid table , fairly comfortably as they have cover for just about all positions. I believe we could also but not as it stands.

Field played like he had an injury from the start, and went off after he fouled 2nd half. Dozzell had his best game for us I think.

I am not sure Willock was injured today. I think it was a mixture of him not being 100% fit and Ainsworth not being a fan of the lad. Colbacks contribution was minimal.

I thought we played well first half, should have been ahead. Armstrong was really unlucky not to score. I was in the paddock so couldn’t see that well, but sky thought the same:
‘Ipswich, promoted from League One last season and now unbeaten in 22 league games, rode their luck at Loftus Road before scoring against the run of play with 15 minutes remaining’
A draw would have been fair.

Yes, I thought we edged the 1st half though we were dodgy at the back the first 10 minutes or so.
But we weren't so good from the start of the 2nd half without Willock and lost it further when Armstrong went off and more subs made just made it worse.
Thought we looked better organised at Cardiff with the 3 at the back.

I really meant the injuries etc made things a shambles.
I just don't understand why we're not up to speed fitness wise.
    I presume Ipswich were?

    Really?
Every report I've seen had us with 3 at the back and wing backs.

Random: I bought a pie and a drink today, which is advertised as a "meal deal." I did the maths and the "meal deal" saves you 10p <laugh>

Why was Colback played as a 10?
    Very odd.

I've not seen us play yet this year, but WLS had us playing 5 at the back out of possession and 4 at the back in possession, potentially causing some of the confusion here.

That makes sense. I was totally confused. Paal didn’t get forward much at all and neither did Smyth first half.

GA said something in his post match that suggested they didn't push the fitness as hard as they could in pre-season to try and avoid the soft-tissue injuries that plagued us last year. He's expecting them to get fitter. Certainly not an approach I've heard before.

Maybe they're all getting tired because they've started trying.

It would be nice if they could get fitter quite quickly, considering we're 3 games into the ****ing season.
    Yes, I heard the interview.

    What a joke.
