2 goals from direct passes in behind, would rather have lost…

That first was an Iniesta like lobbed ball from Seri. And just as good a finish to match. Could watch that over and over again.

We definitely weren’t poor, we were good and sharp on the ball but they were just too tight for so long. It really was crying out for some proper wide players. If you’re going to have two naturally central players on the wings constantly coming inside that’s fine but it really needs the full backs to bomb on behind and run at the full backs which Greaves and Coyle just aren’t. Maybe you get away with having one narrow flank but today was alarming it was so congested in the middle but we just kept trying to squeeze through it and never made any attempt to stretch them. I’m sure that’s not the managers intention but just a consequence of the players that were on the pitch doing what they do. Once again it felt like we waited far too long to change it.

Although both goals did end up coming down the middle once they had smelt blood, pushed forwards and opened up a bit. Before they got the goal that was heading for a definite 0-0.

That (w/assist) was as good as Tufan's screamer last week.

Remind me who it was against again?

I'm pretty sure I seen that game if it was 90s at FER ARK.

Pretty sure I seen us go down to 9 around that time also. Deano and another saw red. Obvs we lost.

Blackburn boss Jon Dahl Tomasson told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"I'm extremely disappointed to lose the game. We didn't deserve that. We can't ask for anymore from the players, playing with 10 men for more than 80 minutes. It was an incredible effort.

"We scored a great goal and conceded two unnecessary goals from straight passes. Just before they scored the second, we had chances. The ball was dancing on the line. I hate losing but when you lose and you go off the pitch and hear the fans cheering, that's always good to see and means you have done something really, really good as a team.

"We created chances even with 10 men. It was good to see Sam get a goal and Niall almost got a goal. When you use a sub in the first half, you only have two left in the second. They did well."

Hull boss Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside:

"It's a great day for us. They were two absolutely top goals from Aaron, which is why we've brought him to the club. I have to give Blackburn credit because they played magnificently with 10 men. They were so brave in the way that they tried to keep the ball and stick to their way.

"It was a strange game because, with 11 v 11, we looked really good. We started really well and could have been two or three up. After the red card, you take a step off. It's natural in football - I see it all the time, it's not conscious. It's relief and it took us 10 or 15 minutes to get our control back.

"In the second half we came out, dominated, controlled and missed chances. They scored from a break. We have to cut that out of our game and improve. Having said that, now I'm seeing resilience and players believing in what we do. We've got a group who don't give up. If you want to be successful in this league, you have to keep going right until the end."

Everyones pissed off at how ****e we played. Rosey has next week to improve or he’s gone. And Acun better start signing some quality, never heard of Twine. They’re both clueless.

I don’t understand anyone saying we got away with it today. We totally dominated against a team who were defending deep and trying to frustrate us. Those setbacks will happen. We didn’t panic as had 20 mins left (including injury time). They were tiring and we had options on the bench.
For me, it was a well deserved win.I thought there were some flashes of brilliant football, hopefully a real sign of things to come. And we’re 6th, would have been 3rd if the ref hadn’t robbed us vs Norwich.. and according to some, we haven’t played well yet.
Can’t believe the negativity when a goal down, ffs we’re gonna have worse setbacks than that this season.

Great away win UTT. Didn't go to Blackburn for reasons people who know me will understand, no dodgy firestick either and radio rugby had GY on my frequency. So had to go in a pub in Beverley. The landlord is a Man Utd fan and the pub was full of weekend tourists, mostly form 'Down South' they said, actually Scunthorpe. I was the only City fan in there and asked for the horse racing to be switch over to the football. At 1-0 down they were laughing at me, at 2-1, there was no-one sat within earshot of our table. UTT.
ps; i was there in 1970 when we beat them 1-0, Chris Chiton, header, as all the pub are now aware.
