Well he is the only proven 20 goal striker in the Championship close to available. If Adams goes we must go proven. Tbh I find it unlikely Piroe comes to us, in which case my argument is more we must not sell Adams under any circumstances, it’s too late in the window to be confident we will replace him.
There is no one out there capable of scoring 20 goals in the championship. Even the great Piroe only got 18 last season!
I think I'd be tempted to just tell Che sorry but he's not going and he can go for free next year. He's a good pro and would get over it pretty quickly if it did upset him, and I think his value to us is worth more than the £15m we'll get for him given how much we've already made.
Because he'd be leaving on a free following this year, I'd expect that he'd be less likely to get upset than most players blocked from returning to the PL...being available on a free is a really good financial prospect. It's certainly an option if we can't find someone, but not an ideal one.
We can't. I will have my teddies chucked so far out of the pram that they'll need to be picked up in France if we sell him. He's worth so much more to the club at the moment.
It’s a huge gamble financially to let close to £15m out the club. If we don’t get promoted, where the “business” decision would be to use that money towards a new striker on a longer contract
We have Armstrong, Onuachu, Mara and Ballard who would be able to do a decent job at this level I feel, Not to mention all of these would fetch a decent enough fee this summer or next summer. So to me, That being said the potential gain of Ches goals pushing back up is a far greater reward of upwards of 120Million instead of selling Che for 15Million and not being able to suitably replace him. For me he is absolutely crucial to us going back up.
If we aren't able to replace him in time with a player we consider our 1st choice then he has to stay really. Can't be gambling on new players this late into the window.
