I expect the stipulation would be they'd have to conform to EUFA rules, including FFP. So that would kill that idea.
Our Saudi friends are dropping cluster bombs in all areas of the transfer battlefield apart from Newcastles path.
Would it be good long term? If they can get Saudi club into CL that’s step 1, before making a super league type comp with more of their 4 Saudi clubs at which point, so they then need Newcastle?
Btw would be a joke if allowed and I’d imagine the club and fan reaction would be even greater than when super league idea was floated and uefa would implode.
Don't worry they did something like this with the golf before the pga yielded and an agreement was made.
I can just imagine the uproar when Liverpool and Man U realise they aren't needed in the new Saudi-UEFA super league. But no, in all seriousness, I don't want any kind of super league and don't see why a Saudi team should be in UEFA competitions. BUT Saudi's have money and a plan, so UEFA may fold for them.
True. And Russia (which is considered Asia) have had teams in European competitions for years. Even Turkey is a half and half Europe/Asia, so why shouldn't Saudi be in CL? Waits for uproar and salty tears...
