Tella played in our academy. Signed as a scholar (not a full professional) aged 16.

100% he's an academy product, for me. Not a 10 years since 8 years old product, but certainly a graduate.

 

I wouldn’t worry too much. Current owners have a fantastic record at spotting footballing talent and turning it into winning performances!

 

I do think we are quite excellent at spotting talent other people already know about!

I'm not going to start hyperventilating over a rumour of interest in a possible transfer that moots an asking price that exceeds the total value of every outbound transfer Saarbrucken has made in the past decade.

It depends on what the panic/meltdown is about.

I agree that there is no point speculating about what season we might be in for, until 1st September. How can anyone make any sort of confident predictions without first knowing what our squad will look like. We might walk the league, or we might finish mid-table. We might have the best transfer window in Championship history, or we might barely spend another penny.

But in terms of worrying about needing to strengthen this position or that position, now is exactly the time. There's no point complaining on 1 September that we're short at CB, for example; it's too late then. Whatever our squad is on 1 September, we'll have to live with it for a least four months. Might as well spend those months focusing on what we do have, rather than what we don't.

I couldn't understand it last season when people were saying in August not to panic about about us not having yet signed a new striker. That was a major factor in our relegation, so being worried in August was far more understandable than being worried on September. Pointless being worried in September.

 

Yeah save a thought for me. That is my birthday. Every year I am let down.

 

Fair point. I just don’t have the energy to get too het up about things at the moment. I perhaps foolishly think it’ll all be fine.
