I agree. This is the **** bit about being relegated; though it was coming, and I feel that we needed it. Some may disagree. Timing is key I guess. We're all starting to watch the clock, and there is the unsettling 'unknown' of who we will keep, and whether we will replace if we sell. Stating the obvious perhaps, but the perfect ingredients for a tasty meltdown.
I know I'm late to the party on this, but I think Tella hasn't been that great if I'm honest in his first two games. I wouldn't be hugely disappointed if he left.. I'd prefer we keep him but I think we could replace him with as good as or potentially better with the money we have banked.
If we sold Sam Amo-Ameyaw I would be really pissed off. Everyone else I guess I can see why they would go and I would hope we could replace them.
1 assist in 2 games already (and that should have been his goal imo). Shows a lot of attacking intent but also works very hard defensively. Plus he’s an academy boy waiting for a chance. It would be absolutely crazy to sell him in my opinion.
Judging a player on two games is batsh*t crazy. Especially the first two games of a season, with a whole new bunch of players around him, and a new coach. I mean, yeah Tella hasn't looked amazing, but then he hasn't been too bad either. Same could be said for most of the players in those two games really.
Yeah, I know. But West Ham are so low on central midfielders of any and every description I'm using this as a further opportunity to PANIC.
Depends how you define it, really. He spent time in both our and Arsenal's academy. Personally, for me, any player who was signed for the academy, and spent time in and playing for the academy, is a Saints academy product. I know many disagree with that definition though! I guess he's both, but finished up here.
Is it not possible to be products of more than one academy? Both Stephens & Tella spent significant time in the Saints academy.
