Good Morning. It's Friday 18th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Leeds could be in hot water after Bournemouth allegation

Leeds Utd could be in hot water with football authorities, after Bournemouth openly challenged them regarding the activation of Tyler Adams' release clause.

The Cherries believe they activated the USA skippers £20m exit, before it expired on Wednesday, an allegation Leeds vehemently deny. This is could be an innocent mistake! It's completely plausible that the Elland Road bigwigs do not know what day of the week it is.

The other conceivable option is that their team of lawyers have come up with a Baldrick style cunning plan, similar to the one they used in the Jean-Kevin Augustin fiasco. Either way, these things rarely end well for Leeds.

According to Phil Hay: “We have been told from the Bournemouth end that Bournemouth think they activated Adams’ clause on Monday, or at least made a bid that would have gone close.

“You would think, given the clause is self-explanatory, they would have hit it right on the button. “But he’s still here, he was at Thorp Arch yesterday (Wednesday, 16 August). “He hasn’t gone at this stage. It’s all rather opaque, really.”

Those responsible for loan clauses at should be lined up and shot

Speaking on his podcast The Hard Truth, Peterborough Utd owner Darragh MacAnthony has told (both) his viewers, that those responsible for the loan clauses at Elland Road should be lined up, shot, and never be allowed to work in football again!

The outspoken entrepreneur has a habit of rubbing people up the wrong way, and isn't shy about expressing his views. Just like the rest of us, the 47yo found it difficult to fathom how players were allowed to leave en masse as long as their wages covered!

Despite all the negatively, he was cautionarily optimistic that Leeds would return back to the top flight in the next two years.

“Whoever put a ******** loan clause in for relegation needs to be lined up, shot, and never allowed to work in football again. I don’t know who did those deals – the guy that was there before? I’m sure it’s not the current ownership.

“The idea that…yes, [I understand] a relegation [transfer] clause, you sign a premium young player from Europe, their agent is going to go ‘well Leeds are going to go down, if Leeds go down, £25m’, so [Leeds] get their money back and a profit."

“But to allow a clause that states that said player can go out on loan if his wages are paid for the season, where you get none of your fee back…the player can go on loan, have a ******** season wherever they go on loan and then completely lose their value – and worse than that, your team is weakened.

“I feel sorry for the people that have now taken over fully that that’s happened, and I feel sorry for the manager, because they’ve lost some ******* key players, they’re going to continue to lose players – they lost Harrison last week, one of the strikers doesn’t want to play – and the worst part is they haven’t really done any business.

“So I don’t know if it’s going to be like lastminute.com where you’re going to see Leeds sign five or six players. I’ve said this before, they are a ******* gigantic club. I think they’re under good new ownership, I think they’re going to be fine, I do think they’re going to get back to the Premier League in the next two years.

“But they need to put their foot down on bringing in players to help Daniel Farke, and that needs to happen from tomorrow onwards with two weeks left in the window, so that late in the window they haven’t got issues with it, and they need to learn that never again do you ever agree to put a loan clause in.

"Sell clause, fine for relegation, but a loan close… ******** move on to another player. So that was just bad business from the previous hierarchy, allowing that to happen, and I feel for the Leeds fans.”

    Cannon move backfires

Leeds Utd's pursuit of Everton starlet Tom Cannon rests solely on the Toffee's being able to find a suitable replacement! The 20yo striker is highly thought of with fans from the blue side of Merseyside, but will let him leave if they can strike a deal with Leicester City for Patson Daka.

The Foxes are not in the habit of letting their talent leave on the cheap, and have demanding £23m. Further sources have suggested that Everton may turn their attention to Saints striker Che Adams. The 27yo has already netted twice this season, and just like Leicester, will only sell if it suits them.

Cannon, a product of Everton's youth system spent the second half of last season on loan at Preston, where he scored 8 times from 20 appearances. A host of Championship clubs are interested in his services, though his £8m price tag may be too rich for most.

    Morning all

From watching Ger Lynch yesterday the Adams situation is all he said she said bs. I'm gonna wait for the call or or email before I judge the situation.

MacAnthony is right Orta should be no where near football again.. nor should Radz.

Regarding Cannon this might be a crazy idea but Everton want Little Willy and wewant Cannon so why don't Everton do a money plus player deal. £15 million plus Cannon.

Bournemouth thing is easy to solve.

Tyler Adams just has to say no to Bournemouth and it goes away.

Morning all. Are we using same legal team for the Adam’s case as the big kev one. If so expect him to move to Bournemouth next week for free and we’ll pay his wages for the five years. What a fckin **** show. As for Mc Anthony’s comments and others this week. They’re correct but where we’re all these knowalls over the past five years when many of us pointed out the shysters that were in charge. Unfortunately now they all want to write about them and have a good laugh at Leeds. Decent people like Bielsa and stix Lockwood were dumped out of the club while the shysters continued to wreck the club. It’s a pity public hanging has been done away with

I'm assuming that the 49ers have a better legal than Radz

Apparently legal teams are looking at Sinisterra contract not because of a loan expiry date but a 'termination' clause in his contract. It's not really clear at the moment what a 'termination' clause is but it's not hard to imagine that he can just terminate his contract and walk away as a free agent if we were relegated.

That would be a new low even for us.

Maybe he thinks it means your definition, whilst the club thinks it means that we can actually "terminate" him ;)

There is only Billy that thinks the relegation loan clauses are good business, everyone else can see the club have been damaged and the new season in the championship also damaged and will carry on being damaged for the next couple of weeks.

Lots of seemingly simple deals are available yet we continue to do nothing. Emu mentioned the Cannon plus cash for Gnonto and yes it’s seemingly simple to do, just like Lewis O’Brian loan from Forest yet again nothing done about it. I understand doing business on the quiet yet obvious deals ignored and no sign yet of any incomings

Olise signed a contract extension ending Chelsea's hopes of signing him.

Good news for us as Summerville was being lined up as Olise's replacement at Palace.

    Morning Leeds fans

"According to Phil Hay: “We have been told from the Bournemouth end that Bournemouth think they activated Adams’ clause on Monday, or at least made a bid that would have gone close."

Surely a bid that "goes close" is not enough to trigger the clause ? Either they made a formal £20M bid before the clause deadline or they didn't. OR (more likely), whoever wrote the release clause ****ed up the wording and Bournemouth have actually hired some decent lawyers that have spotted a loophole.

Morning everyone is it me or do our fans over rate our players. I have not seen a massive rush to sign Summerville. Heard Leeds wanted 15 million for him to go back to his country. For such a star man it's not that much but where are the bidders.
Everton are skint they have loaned Harrison for free but not stumped up a fee for Gnonto. I think they wanted to pay in installments so who do they have we could plunder. About time we did to others what Norwich did to us.
Maybe the 49ers are holding out for cheaper deals like Ampadu du du. If it saves a few million then good business by them. Might leave some money for January if we are high enough up the table.
I am as peed off as the next fan but they can redeem themselves. Very surprised at the lack of signings this week though not even the usual one un.

    Latest news.

Lazy day today. Nice breeze off the Med. No run today as I overslept. Found a bar showing the game tonight unfortunately so I'm chillin by the pool all day. Already won 3 games of Uno today and its only dinner time here.

Had a healthy breakfast of honey on toast followed by lots of watermelon, grapefruit and oranges. Lots of coffee.

Water slides open soon so me and Emu junior gonna have a slide and splash hour or so before dinner. Might have a snooze later if I can be bothered.

Hope you lot aren't having a miserable day and hope the weather is tolerable.

    Regards,

I'm kinda hoping that our owners are holding their nerve until the last week or so when clubs get desperate and we get some good deals.

They could have an exceptional week or it could be time for the fans turn on them already. We'll have a good idea by the end of next week.
