I wonder if its any of these... all English, all wingers.. all out of our reach? Reiss Nelson Shola Shoretire Jamie Bynoe-Gittens Jack Clarke Marcus Tavernier
That’s a well constructed list to be honest, although I think Jack Clarke is most unlikely. Im don’t think Shoretire would be more impressive than the Twine acquisition but the other 3 would definitely be eyebrow raisers.
They are almost all certainly out of reach Nelson - Would have offers from prem and abroad Bynoe-Gittens - Featuring heavily for Dortmund Jack Clarke - Burnley had bid of £10m+ rejected Tavernier - Key player for Bournemouth Shoretire could be possible, but even that seems unlikely
I thought Reiss Nelson as well. Name people have heard of and would probably do really well at this level
Nelson played a fair amount of games last year for Arsenal including champions league. I'm sorry to tell but he won't blow our socks this month.
He's also just signed a new contract on 100k per week. Before that clubs like West Ham and AC Milan were interested. There's literally 0 chance
Wouldn’t be too surprised if it’s a decent player from Man City’s academy. Evidently a working relationship between clubs with the Delap deal and the game behind closed door last season. Man City also not been too unwilling in recent years to let younger talent go + we held interest in Borges earlier in the window.
I think Baz suggesting this is bigger than Twine rules out an unheard of Academy starlet. By the sounds of it, it is someone who has made some impact somewhere, whether a small number of first team appearances or on loan.
It's all good. Wasn't it Mr Spock who said when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. Might have actually been Sherlock Holmes but the point stands. Keep throwing out names.
…Columbo turns around ‘…just one last thing…didn't someone in the know suggest this would be someone we had heard of..:strokes chin…I had to look this guy up’
