I think a lot of people don't know how easy it is to look up a post from someone claiming they never said a certain thing, or whatever. Takes literally 10 seconds.
I've no clue, I just remember being midflow, convinced I was in the right and he pop a post up where I'd said the exact opposite 6 months before. Make me look even more of a tit than usual
I think Fernandez will develop into a pretty special No8, tbh. Or they could play him and Caicedo together in a 4-2-3-1.
Ok I've had time to digest this news. My thoughts are: - Surely this is a 'cheap' signing so we can use the rest of the funds on a bigger signing like Doucoure, and also have enough for Andre in the summer - He is experienced, captain, incredibly hard worker, understands the DM role, decent on the ball, and great injury record and availability - Surprisingly good in the air - The rumored fee is still high for what he is brought in for - He is definitely an unplanned back up signing given it's happening late in the window and after two set backs for our primary targets. So we really need to get a proper Sporting Director in asap.
it was good when him and Tobes had a ding-dong (often, on the Prem Board). You could hear the data-scraping going on back to the old BBC days.
but he'd be a world class 6. in reality what cheslea have managed to do is lose all the good cbs, by a lot of crocks or kids put the best available two 6s in the side but have no 10 in front of them and not striker really. their current squad is entirely suited to 343 but there's no focal no 9, Jackson needs time to develop. imo they should put James at rcb or he won't last.
as I said I really don't care who we buy we have to start at the top of the organisation. Gordon was the driving force behind fsg acquiring lfc and driving force behind the development. he stepped back. hogan was the commercial guy. he's done a great job commercially but asked now to just cover Gordon and it's not his game. bully could end up another ayre here. nobody wants a good lad to go thst way. then the director of football has to be someone for 5 years plus with the score and authority to completely revitalise the players recruitment and analysis departments but also get into that medical and fitness side to give klopp what we need.
I agree - the overall structure at the club is messed up now, and FSG are to blame for letting it get this way. They are to blame for the lack of funding over the years, giving Klopp more power, and failing to replace key figures.
Also - despite the structural issues, another big concern is that the team does not look coached at all. That is down to Ljinders as he is now leading the coaching aspect, because despite the lack of successful recruitment, this team should be doing / looking a lot better than what we have seen over the past years. Someone said it best that with Klopp being a proxy Sporting Director, we're getting the worst out of him in recruitment whilst losing the best of him in coaching.
I think it's quite clearly unplanned, otherwise we would have moved before now. And also a stop-gap for someone else in January (André or Kone maybe?) or the summer while also giving Bajcetic and maybe Morton time to develop. Not sure about Doucoure. If Olise is staying now he's signed a new contract, then that gives Palace more scope to sell, but we presumably can't be that sold on Doucoure (at least not for the price) if he's at best third choice. And if we do want Doucoure as a 6, then what's the point of Legendo?
