Fair play England. I didn’t think we’d get this far this tournament with the injuries we’ve got and the average form we came into the tournament in. Been proved so wrong. This team know how to win games in tournament football. Equally impressed with how Weigman has managed it and has mixed it up throughout. INGERLAAAAND
Hemp so strong and creative, Bright so authoritative, Carter excellent defensively and setting up attacks, Bronze classy, Daly never has a bad game, all played really well today Hemp definitely WOTM
Sarina Wiegman must now be viewed as one of the greatest managers of all time, taking 2 different countries to 2 major finals.
England are very consistent. That makes a big difference. You just felt they were comfortable once ahead the second time.
The opposition will often force your hand though because they will push up and player higher etc. If you don't counter the opposition's change in tactics, then you're asking for trouble.
Does anyone know much about the Saudi clubs? I’ve had a look and it seems all the massive signings have gone to 5 clubs. Apparently there are 4 state backed clubs. It’s just a curious situation all round Apparently their transfer window runs until 20th September. Wonder if this will cause any disruption for bigger clubs Each club is only allowed 8 foreign players. Not clear when this has to be decided by. So that limits what some can do I guess
One of my more cultured Facebook friends has just pointed out that he’s surprised Russo doesn’t play for the Tigresses.
There will be more stories like this. Especially if they win. It will be incessant for at least a week I expect. We’d probably get the same pay discussions as in the US, debate over prominence of games on TV, complaints about no bank holiday and likely even a discussion about what kind of crowd would turn out for any victory parade
Preference is not sexism. It is preference. Telling people they are sexist if they prefer something else is not an intelligent response. Yet many people will. I said to a colleague that women’s football is great and that there is a lot of skill in the game, but I think women are smaller and the crossbar should be 6 inches lower. Too many silly looking goals go in against the shorter keepers . I got a dirty look! When did it become impossible to discuss things without isms being thrown at you? And there are slightly smaller goals. Teenagers use them!
Kane doing that thing where he strolls around and makes you think “is he actually that good?”, so I wholly expect him to score a hat trick second half. Like he does.
