VIP Two from Ste for the day ! 1652 Wolves- BERNADINE 5/1 - 0.5 ew 3 paid with sky We've been on Bernadine a few times in VIP and I did tip her last week aswell not sure what track but she ended up a non runner there, this looks like it could be quite a tough race with dont tell clare dropping in grade & if the Godolphins where in any form there well bred type would probably be closer to favouritevbiy Bernadine has been progressive this year picking up three wins and a second from five runs with that runner up coming on her latest effort over this distance and in this class at Ascot finishing a length and half behind the winner with the two behind both winning nto, just 2lb higher here for that effort with 3lb claimer Georgia Dobie retaining the ride and I think this is the yards only runner on the card, could still have norento come and hopefully staying loyal to her pays off. 1430 Beverly- CARNABY PRINCESS 6/1 EW 0.5 points - 4 paid Form doesn't look that appealing at first took but she has ran reasonably well in her 4 career starts so far, she made a promising debut when staying on well to get 5th over 6f at Ripon where you tend to find trainers sending there half decent ones to, 7f may if stretched her on her next start when fading inside the final furlong but the winner of that won nto at Haydock stepping up two classes & her start after back over 6f at Ripon also brings a bit of confidence with the runner up winning nto and the winner has since finished third in group 3 company over in France, heavy ground probably weren't ideal lto at donny but she's only had 4 career starts and she's dropped 2lb with better ground over the minimum trip and has shown enough to think she should be able to win off this sort of mark in this company, over priced and worth chancing.
Got on Spirit Dancer and Dream Harder (EW) today and made a nice little profit, makes up for what I lost on Carnaby Princess
EPSOM DOWNS 1.50 - MIRRORING 3/1 - 2 point win 3.00 - COUNT OTTO 2/1 - 1 point win COUNT OTTO goes for the hat trick today after being pulled before the off when last due to run. Conditions are more suitable today and he will get the ground required for a bold hat trick effort. Looks like a straight forward race to win, Musicka is well up in class and isn’t in top form. Granary Queen just can’t seem to win, 16 races without a win although there's no doubt she’s getting closer and closer. You would imagine COUNT OTTO can see this lot off in current mood. MIRRORING for me should be the favourite in the race based on the previous run at Newmarket. He ran 3rd behind some decent mounts in a class 2 race. This is a class 5 race. He wasn’t far off the winner Flaccianello or Say Hello who had won a class 5 previously. I feel that piece of form is significantly better than the favourites who is a shorter price and never done anything outside class 5. The fav Guns and Flowers ran in the race that Say Hello won and finished 5th. For that reason I feel that MIRRORING is good value and worth a 2 point bet. NEWBURY 2.05 - AL HUJAIJA 3/1 - 1 point win 3.15 - INVINCIBLE TIGER 4/1 - 2 point win 4.55 - AL HARGAH 11/4 - 1 point AL HUJAIJAS effort at class 2 when 5th is the best form piece in this race. The second in that race has gone on to win at Lingfield in a class 5 and the 3rd ran into another place in a class 4 recently so the form lines for AL HUJAIJAA look quite solid for this novice stakes. Is there anything hidden amongst the line up that might out run the odds? More than likely there is. Some expensive well bred newcomers here that could sprout form the pack so a small bet only on AL HUJAIJA who looks the pick on form alone. Taking on the favourite with Rossa Ryans INVINCIBLE TIGER. Rossa has 3 rides this afternoon, he’s in top form and this horse arrives on the back of beating our info horse TENHOTFOURCRAZY who we know then went on to win LTO and is also running in the 3.45 at 40/1… (see below I’m having a go) Good price for an inform horse with form franked. Another I think should be fav that isn’t today and good value so trying a 2 pointer. I have a very strict rule in the Apprentice handicaps and that’s if the horse you fancy or like in the race has a good amateur on board then have a bet regardless of price. We are not exactly getting an amazing price here but this Hannon horse has a real chance and comes with the benefit of the jockey with the best strike rate in the whole of the UK at the moment in Alec VOKIHANSKY. I think AL HARGAH should be winning here. LONGSHOTS 0.5 EW Small bets, loyalty and follow ups here. TENHOTFOURCRAZY needs no introduction, good luck to the owner of the horse who is in the group. A very big ask today but she’s rapid and has something about her. She can’t be fully ruled out with improvement. VAPE often front runs and can sneak a place at 25/1 but is swimming with the sharks today. BIRKENHEAD, no real form but start to show signs of improvement. Interestingly runs below last winning mark today by 2lbs thanks to the claim of Billy Loughrane who I believe rides for the first time and I’m hoping he can get a good tune out of him at a big price. I had a couple of decent wins yesterday, both at 6.5, £20 on each (Bazball, Wreck It Riley). One of them started at 7.5 which netted me an extra £20 which is to date my best BOG bonus. Nice little bonus.
Ripon 3.15 - ARAMIS GREY 50/1 - 0.5 ew - 6 paid Here’s one that looks massively overpriced to me and although her best form has come on good or faster ground she has also ran well on soft. Showed she was better than ever when finishing 3rd of 9 at Haydock in a Listed event but was below par when back on the AW last month. This return to turf is a plus and could easily outrun these odds. With 6 places on offer it’s a no brainier to have a small each way go on this one.
