Not sure where to post this, but as a Foreign Correspondent he featured prominently from some huge World events. A great journalist and excellent newscaster from an age when BBC News could possibly be believed... RIP George Alagiah!
If anyone wants to make a ****ish Moments in TV History thread, here's a couple of early candidates...
Joe Pesci making a baldness joke with that hairline? Very brave. If he's that holy, then maybe he shouldn't have spent his entire career glorifying gangsters? 3 divorces also isn't the most Catholic thing. Not sure the church approves of midgets, either. As for Madonna, that's just bizarre. They didn't take kindly to a lot of her stuff. Like A Prayer's video was "cancelled" by the same Pope, for example. Odd.
Sad news... RIP Michael Parkinson A great presenter who brought true journalistic skills to his craft and added a warmth and empathy with his guests that invariably brought the best out of them and created some of the most intimate revelations. His interviews with the likes of Mohammed Ali, Billy Connolly and George Best are legendary. A sad loss - even at 88!
His quote to Rachel Reilly " a challenging ****" was a double snort of coffee down the nose from me , he is greatly missed
