Liverpool confirm safe standing licence granted at Anfield
Liverpool FC has been granted a Safe Standing Licence for the 2023-24 season following an application to the Sports Ground Safety Authority (SGSA) earlier this year.
The move will now see the introduction of safe standing areas across all rail seating sections on the Kop and in the lower Anfield Road Stand from Saturday.

the entire bottom tier has rail seats on Annie from.images and it looks like the full bottom blocks of the klopp (about row 50) is installed.

there's now a very clear line right across the kop

Come on mito, you were going on about this expansion for years and now it's in place it's not good enough because it doesn't match the artist's impression pictures. You are a hard man to please.

if you walked into that on Saturday you'd be very under whelmed.

    compare to the main stand.

hopefully and very much eventually they will open the main building and fans might see something better.

but access is limited to very few doors do it will be a bottleneck.

I am not shocked in the slightest.

The second they were "late" the were in to penalties.

You can see some work happening and then not others and some work just being left for ages.

There's seats on site for weeks and nobody installing them up top for example

    Its not bust; its ADMINISTRATION

which means it going to be micro managed out to complete the bare project then folded.

    (take in the money.)

I would assume every single sub contractor is now in saying nothing doing until you pay and you'll pay per days work going forward.

Liverpool FC has today released the following statement.
Buckingham Group has made us aware that it has filed for a notice of intention to appoint administrators. This filing does not impact the planned opening of the new Anfield Road Stand’s lower tier on Saturday for the match against AFC Bournemouth.
Following the successful test events earlier this week, Liverpool City Council’s building control team issued a safety certificate to operate the lower tier of the Anfield Road Stand and we look forward to welcoming supporters to Anfield for our first Premier League home game of the season.
We will work with Buckingham Group on the planned phased opening of the remainder of the new stand and will continue to keep supporters updated on arrangements for future games.
Our intention is to update all supporters who have a ticket for the Aston Villa match at the earliest opportunity.

so basically a rehash of publicly available info and they have no idea what this means for future.

that away fan end is not really acceptable in the current state and only netting stops someone acting the **** and going off the edge and falling down to ground level.

there's been a consisten lt theme since December when it was rumours it was 4 months behind. there's been not extra catch up efforts and works have been excessively slow all through March to May and especially during summer.

we only need look up in any shots taken in the safer event tuedays to see massive sections of under cladding not done and ran out of time before scaffolding was hauled down. its made the job 10x harder to complete.

imo we can forget this being opened for Everton game now and it honestly looks like 24/25 not at best.

the insides a shell. there's huge work to be done inside.

Mr drone says he's been told that lads are getting their tools out of the site.

He was down by the site and listening in on people talking in the car park and it does sound like sub contractors were getting the hell out before it all gets closed down and they were looking for who was sticking with the job or not.

As he walked up close on the park entrance there's toolboxes and stuff outside <laugh>

    100% confusion and panic

cheeky ****er listening in on conversations and then posted it on you tube.

Basically If there's "LFC money to pay" then the work might get done but if LFC want to stiff them then nothing will happen.

That's the end of any penalties in the contract etc.

To complete this someone is going to have to bring in new contractor to finish this and that will take months.

kc imageworks is a lad who's a former steward and does drones and says there's rumours of laing o'rourke wanting to take this job on as it's at a stage where the work left is fit out and they wouldn't clash with bramley Moore.

let's see what happens cos the main issue is getting the thing opened safely.

Oh dear. I was offered a job at Buckingham's a couple of years ago, didn't even apply or interview for it. I was called out of he blue who I knew who had just joined and was building his team and he just offered me the job.

I had to turn him down for a few reasons, and glad I did!

we have to think of the local lads who are in trouble right now. lots and lots of different types who need paying.

if we look at this there's lots of signs

    examples.

not painting the steel. the garry neville sin. if you look the painter who was doing the priming, then white then finally grey vanished off site a couple months back without finishing.

no second crest. People were saying it was meant to go up weeks ago.

    really slow blockwork

no this is anfield sign up on the front where there's a giant hole.

cladding going extremely slowly round the sides and for no good reason. especially the sky side having gaps people will now get rained on through etc.

no sign of progress within the stand etc etc

    ah well.

maybe they can finish it under administration based on payments to come and perhaps save a few jobs.

situation now is everything has been cleared out off site and site closed.

Buckingham are seeking administration so are not in it so are in effect closed.

we can do absolutely nothing until this is sorted.

it'd have gone aeahd with a closed end if they went bust earlier

I am guessing they've tried their hardest slow the whole job and cut ever spend they could which is why the signs and logos stopped right around the time thst winding up order went in in July that was refused.

the materials have been drip feeding in slowly I suppose.

right now lfc need a real quick decision and get a new contractor on site for surveys and finishing the job. the existing subs can come back on with a new contractor and take up the work they were at.

I think the issue will be literally every aspect looks poor enough in build so there will be 1000s of snag list items the club will get charged through the nose to fix.

so 2 stands 2 lead contractors go to the wall.
we will struggle to find any company brave enough to take the job on if we ever want to redevelop either the Centenary or Kop stands <laugh>

I hardly think we can be blamed for the first one given the stress that came out about their business across multiple massive projects. it was over a year after completion.

this lot have actually used us to stay afloat and should never have been picked as Fulham issues were already known prior to awarding project.

Liverpool FC has today released the following update on the Anfield Road Stand development.

Following Buckingham Group confirming that it has appointed administrators, we have now taken control of the Anfield Road Stand construction site and have appointed Rayner Rowen Construction, along with a number of other contractors, to resume the final works on the project.

Work will begin now to fully assess the construction programme and Rayner Rowen will work swiftly with our internal team to produce a revised project completion programme, which will give us certainty on capacity and phasing.

We will update on this revised completion programme as quickly as possible. In the meantime, some workers have returned to the site to continue some immediate works.

For the West Ham United, Leicester City and Union SG fixtures, the capacity of Anfield will be the same as the opening two games of the season against AFC Bournemouth and Aston Villa, meaning the upper tier of the new Anfield Road Stand will remain closed.

Our ticketing team will be in touch directly with those supporters who will be impacted. All general admission season ticket holders and Members with 13+ credits will continue to be accommodated for our Premier League fixtures. Further details on our upcoming cup games will be provided in the selling details when published on our website. Other ticket allocations across the board will remain at a reduced allocation in line with the first two home games of 2023-24.

It is anticipated that the additional capacity at Anfield will be incrementally phased in after the next three home games. We do not expect any impact on the continued operation of the existing Anfield Road Stand, which has remained in use throughout the development so far.

Our thoughts are with all those employees and contractors who face uncertainty at this time.

Working with Rayner Rowen Construction, we will seek to engage as many of Buckingham’s existing sub-contractors going forward as we are reasonably able to.

Everyone at LFC is looking forward to getting the stand completed and fully open, and we are doing everything possible to make sure that happens as quickly and safely as possible.

We would like to thank all fans for their support and understanding while we work to resolve this unfortunate situation.
