Interesting first half. We are definitely a team who are in transition from 2 playing styles. Some GA players slowing it down, rather than keeping the tempo up. 3-4-3 not seeming to work. Pros Low looks really good Phillips looks great, seemed to start as a front 3, then got lost after the goal, then after they score went further forward and became dangerous again. Vokes is quality Boyes looks good. Cons Are we supposed to be playing it out or going direct, I’m still not sure. Grimmer seems to be playing RCB, RB and RWB. Just getting in the way. We should go with 4 at the back for certain, it’s just causing confusion at the moment. Wings back not sure whether to get forward as the back 3 are so narrow. anyway let’s get another goal and some confidence.
This is disgraceful. Orient goalless in 2 League games and one cup and they have 2 against us with 10 men
Definitely much needed and boy did we make it hard for ourselves. For some reason we bypassed the wing backs all 2nd half and reverted to pumping it into the channels. Taylor looks a real player, if we get the formation and style correct him and Vokes will score a hat full. Anyway this is a results business and we are up and running.
Also, a little on Low. What a player we have, fantastic in the middle of the 3 but also great on the left and gave us much better balance than Taff did. If only we had 2/3 Low’s we would be sorted. Hopefully Low, Forino plus 1 will be a settled back 3. (If we stick to that)
I did the bbc quiz on naming all 51 premiership clubs ever. Very tough, I got 46, even missed 2 current ones.
I thought the result flattered us last night. The fact they were down to 10 men from 50 minutes and Orient still finished the game with 65% possession says a lot. I think without the red we could have been struggling to get a point out of the match. I know we have made a lot of new signings, but i cant see a style at the moment. We almost look like an Ainsworth team, but without the steel and grit. I think with the quality of players that we have brought in, I expected a more free flowing style or perhaps some possession based football. I cant really describe what we have at the moment, but it wasn't great to watch last night. On the upside there are a few shining lights in the team. Leahy looks great and had some touches of brilliance. Low looks very comfortable and a more than capable Forino replacement (I assume as he wasn't even on the bench last night that he is off to QPR) and Vincent Kane Young looks quality too. I also like Taylor as he shows hard work and endeavour, perhaps isn't getting the service at the moment. I'll give Bloomfield the benefit of the doubt at the moment but we have to understand that Rob Couhig clearly stated that if we don't achieve this year, the budget is going to be cut to match income (the fact we lost £2.5m last year means there will be some serious cuts) so MB does not have the luxury of a year to bed in before a push on as next year we will have a seriously cut playing budget. Probably not really fair on him as a young and upcoming manager so perhaps with this strategy the club should have gone for someone with greater experience?
To score three is good going even against 10, to let two not so good that's 8 goals against in three games.
Your comment about the football league teams in the National Leagues Ron,There are 9 in the National League, 3 in the National League North & another 3 in National League South that I think we have played against in our time in the Football League
Crikey, without knowing how many have made it back to the Football League, that would seem to imply that relatively few do. Obviously there is Luton, who did a bit more than bounce back, Bristol R, now doing well in L1. I think there are a few more but I'm not sure if they made it back or into
