We should be all over this, He is the CB we need next to Stephens. Would be immense.

Should get Lavia to tap him up before he completes his move to Chelsea. :)

Weird how things suddenly become tongue in cheek when they're very quickly exposed as being bollocks.

Leicester already have Callum Doyle on loan from City. Doubt City will want to loan a second CB to the same club. Limited game time there also with Coady, Souttar and several others.

Leeds already brought in Ampadu and Rodon, plus they're in freefall right now.

    Saints is the obvious choice.

Harwood-Bellis on a permanent with a buyback would be very Saints. Yes please.

He'll know also that we are a massive platform for young talent to play and shine too - I feel if we are genuinely interested then we have a excellent chance to sign him.

Imagine our next two signings being Downes and Harwood-Bellis. That would surely silence the doubters.

We haven’t signed a Man City youth player for weeks. We’re well overdue another one or two.

Surely we are limited here by still having 4 central defenders on the books. We need to move one on at least. If ABK doesn’t want to be here it should be him. Kind of lost hope of someone taking Lyanco. Can we convince the Saudis that him trying to defend against Neymar and Ronaldo would be box office?

Maybe it'll be the case of Shea Charles, As a club wed have to move on him quickly because of known Interest.
Financially we can blow every team in this division out the water.

Interesting interpretations. Shows how different some people see it. Just seen someone on Saintsweb muse at why he might prefer the other two - Leicester because he can partner a fellow academy player and be favourites to win the league and Leeds because he can stay up north and apparently they have new owners so can get a higher salary. That ownership part is news to me. Doesn’t sound like free fall?

I thought they might be struggling due to not making any sales. Especially as there are people out there saying there is an automatic 100m hole in all relegated clubs finances that must be filled by sales before any purchases can be made (despite no relegated club ever making 100m in sales before us this year)

The 100Million comes from wages, And any savvy team will have clauses and shift a few of there higher earners to offset that.
But yes; the argument that a tram needs to sell 100million just to stay afloat is rubbish.

Harwood-Bellis is an interesting one. From a City/development perspective it seems a bit pointless sending him to a top end Championship team again, he just walked this league with Burnley so presumably has shown he is ready for a challenge at a higher level.

They would probably favour a loan to a PL team but maybe the market just isn’t there, not sure if Burnley have signed a replacement for him yet or he could go there again.

So you’d think the sell with buyback route would be more likely if we were to get him, obviously done that numerous times before so could put us in the driving seat. Guess it just depends if City really see a future for him there in the next season or so and want him to have another development loan

They’ve extended walkers contract and spent close to a record fee on a defender. I don’t think there is a pathway that gets him into the side next year so a sale with a buy back probably suits them more

Not sure how many of the Prem clubs will start him weekly other than the promoted ones

Burnley have spent 20m on two new central defenders for what it is worth

Given the depth they’ve got at CB, and having just spent near on £80m on another. Sell with buy back/sell on seems to make perfect sense for both them and us.
