Have you heard of equality? It is a crime to make a racial comment, nothing to do with freedom of speech. He has upset a whole host of cultures by saying this. A man who is in charge of football has said you should make a handshake with an opposing player who made racists comments towards you and your cultures.

What he has said is a disgrace he clearly doesn't care what he says because at the end of the day he knows he probaly won't get the sack so time and time again he will make another controversial comment and wouldn't care about hurting people because he knows he will still get a big pay cheque at the end of it still.

As Dr. Samuel Johnson said: "Every man has a right to utter what he thinks the truth, and every other man has a right to knock him down for it."

If you don't believe in freedom of speech for all, then you don't believe in it at all. This is where the UK diverges, you can be arrested or expelled from the country for saying words. I disagree with that personally, I think it's a person's right to speak as he wishes and it is his responsibility to acknowledge when he has been clearly offensive. Just as it is everybody else's right to call him an idiot and put him in his place.

Different issue. This is do do with freedom of speech. If Blatter actually said and stopped and put restrictions on, for the sake of argument, black players then I would agree because you are infringing on someone elses liberty by discriminating against them. That is a problem, if he had encouraged racism that would be a problem. But all he has said essentially is that people should be less sensitive and there is no real racism in football and whilst I don't agree with what he says I don't think he should be sacked for it. Everyone thinks he is a prat and his credibility sinks ever lower, his position will eventually become untenable and he can leave, but only voluntarily.

It is no crime to offend someone. It's not nice but not a crime.

The internet in full flow. Well done.

The bottom line is that his comments were taken out of context.

I'm no fan of his I assure you but this is a witch hunt.

He was simply saying that many things go on during a football match, violence, swearing, bad tackles, diving, asking officials to book an opponent etc but it's all forgotten after the final whistle.

He is not saying you can condone racism on the football field, he is saying that professionals should shake hands and forget what went on during the game - it's far from sound advice but the complete over-reaction on here and throughout the media is pretty sad really. <ok>

Well this is just getting silly...

As a general rule I would say the route to enlightenment and a clear conscience could be uncovered by doing, thinking and saying the exact opposite of what Sepp Blatter does.

    Basically, he's a massive ****.
