We can change the manager, change the Chief Operating Officer, change the medical team - even the Tea Lady and the pie supplier, but we can’t change the injury hoodoo which has plagued us through successive regimes. Sooo frustrating.
While it is frustrating with the injuries we just have to get on with it, we should have enough backup to cope....we are not unique.. Listening on Saturday, Preston were without key players because of injuries.. it happens...as it did with our previous managers....it's no excuse for future performances imo.
I agree, injures are a very real. and well known threat to disrupt teams through a season, it's up to the manager's of each team to have s quad to cope, we are no different. Maybe NP will have a wild and crazy notion to cover this by playing Wiemann as a striker, and it might work.... Who knows, he's tried him almost every other position.

dont usually pay much attention to media posts always have a look and take on board whaats said .. however this was quite a long one and did have some interesting points....... in do much as I went back over the 2 NP ONES ..... and verdict is .. peeed off is very much to gentle to describe his "mental state at the present" [ over this ] When I do my championship standings one of the main points is players top 3 being defense/ midfield and forward [goalscorer] they get a rating then pick 9 others [ not going into how it works but I know ] LOSS OF AS is a disaster, I reckon he was worth at least 7 additional points! [ difference say of ending on 67 pts without 74 points with ] QUESTION IS WILL NP ....stay!
£25m apparently. We got our asking price: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/aug/10/bournemouth-alex-scott-bristol-city-sign-25m

Nigel Pearson discusses Zak Vyner contract as transfer interest grows in Bristol City defender Zak Vyner is in the final 12 months of his contract at Ashton Gate and interested clubs could look to take advantage of the situation https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-zak-vyner-contract-8673892
new BCFC web site, anyone else have an opinion on it? Looks quite flashy but to me seems a bit of overkill ?
I think BCFC need to really get a grip on these contracts For years Burnley were in top division had small gates compared to most others and every year had to sell a "top player" to balance books ..[.before FFP ] Crewe were another .. still is? We have just sold the jewel in the crown [ remember Ashton selling of the silverware and getting us in the black, but finishing up at bottom of the table.. struggling ...! ] I have posted quite a few times, we need to nail down a core element to take s forward ... that means securing the talent that cost us "next to nothing" [ like we didnt spend £8m on a fee .. then lost the player .. after 3 years . or so for nowt !] We now have probably a core of 6 players, all who need to be tied down, play together more often and results will get better?? and a chance to be top 6 will come! I would happily see out my time if BCFC finished in top 6 every season!!!!! since 1952 thats over 70 years of support/ following /call it what you want/ .... £25m in kitty ... well lets look at a 3 year +1 plan for that! ==== £25m / 156 weeks = £160k per week toward wage bill!!! [ top 7 players £160k / = £23k a week! top 8 = £20k top 9 = £18k [ figures roughly ] In 3 years we will have all the usual incomes and sell one or 2 players over that 3 year period at profits .... to enhance the kitty! [ maybe the better quality player/ better quality team performance would be we raise £60m in player sales! ] [note... reply 1, 111]
a chat with a non contributor to this board regarding the new "added on time" says that when the clock says 9o mins [ or 45 mins ] and time is added on then if that time is +7 mins then the clock at 90- mins should say 83 mins! ..? so then bookings/ goals/ sending off's are in the actual time played not on the pitch! I said that it doesnt really matter! his response was he has a few bets only a few pounds less than £10 each week on City and often does quirky bits with odd sites that do "all aspects of the game" bookings goalscorer corners etc including things like time of first goal / booking/ penalty/ etc etc. Result at 90 mins etc he is a loser at 90+1 or 2 etc etc I said so if you "guess" it is not concrete likely to be based on something other than just a guess you are predicting an event against whoever the time of the event is set by? say FA/ EFL/BBC/SKY/ITV/????? IRRESPECTIVE OF EXACT TIME in getting there? ... we agreed to disagree!......
Exclusive: Bristol City eyeing up second QPR transfer raid BYBEN WIGNALL PUBLISHED 23 MINUTES AGO The Robins signed Rob Dickie earlier in the summer and they have now set their sights on Chris Willock Bristol City's transfer business could be boosted by the £25 million sale of Alex Scott to Bournemouth, giving them funds to make further signings before the transfer window closes. QPR winger Chris Willock is on Bristol City's radar as a potential signing, but there may be an issue with meeting his wage demands. Nigel Pearson has indicated that Bristol City's wage bill is already stretched, and while they have made some signings, there may not be significant funds available for further reinforcements. Bristol City's transfer business could step up a level in the final couple of weeks of the transfer window thanks to the £25 million sale of teenager Alex Scott to Bournemouth.
Baker and Jay’s wages are off the books. Those were two of the highest earners, obviously Scott gone as well. The wages thing is code to selling teams imo, who see we’ve just got £25m for Scott, and £10m Jan for Semenyo, in an effort to suggest we aren’t flush. Also to manage the expectations of our fans. I may be wrong but don’t see many more incomings
I'd say not, although Willock is a decent player And if Conway is going to be out for a while do we need another striker in on loan ?
