I would I would guess Mac was more or less done before he arrived so think he can only take credit for Dom. I thought he was brought in because of his knowledge of the german market think we have only been linked with 1 or 2 from thre Germany apart from Dom.
yeah, I said that on Sunday. Brilliant to have Diaz back - like a £75m new signing. But he doesn't do what Mane does, BUT NOBODY DOES. If Mane was a better passer he'd be a brilliant DM - his tackling and strength is up there with Kante. That said, it was right to let him go - as has been proved by his sad swansong in Munich.
5/10. We can't disregard the good stuff that has happened so far: - Getting rid of Hendo, Milner and Fabinho - Sboz and Mac are two fantastic additions Add 2-3 signings and it will be a good window.
Yep, can't fault us for letting players go - Gini, Mane, bobby etc. As much I love them, they weren't the same player any more (maybe Gini was). We have to move on. Mane, Bobby and Salah is one of the all time great attacks which had everything. All 3 had intelligence, could score goals and could create, plus work insanely hard. The annoying thing for me is that we could have bought players who profiled similarly but chose to go a different route - Gakpo and Nunez just don't fill me with much confidence.
I was basing it on transfer activity so far and presuming he's been involved because that's what he was brought in to do. We were told he has specialist knowledge of the German market and we got Szoboszlai so .... there's that
Wouldn't be surprised if we go back in for Manu Kone. Seems like an easy deal to do and he has an insane engine on him.
Think Gakpo is a shrewd buy, but he's no midfielder. He could play at the head of midfield diamond as Sterling did a few times under Rodgers, but not in a 3 like he was asked on Saturday. As I say, Klopp's formation selection is like the bed of Procrustes - no matter who is available he'll stretch, cut and squeeze them into a 4-3-3.
Sky sports transfer show running a segment on why players choosing chelsea over liverpool . Location / Project / Contracts being mentioned. Could just say £££ and contract security...
I don't mind Gakpo - he is a solid player but I just don't know how we intend to use him. As a false 9? With our recruitment in the past, it feels like we had a clear plan on how to use them. With Gakpo, and now certainly Darwin, I don't think we have an actual plan on how to use them. We just like them as players but without an idea on how to get best out of them. That's just my opinion of course but I'm hoping Klopp and team do have a better idea. I just look at Darwin, and we've used LW and as CF, and we haven't seen much of an improvement.
Only thing is his injury. We might do it if we're desperate, but otherwise I would have thought we'd wait til January. But I agree he could well be in our minds.
Had this conversation yesterday with mate. Giving all these reasons and I’m sure some are legit, but they missed the massive one which was money and an 8 year contract lol. 4 minutes of waffle could have been answered in 30 seconds.
Gakpo seems a Bobby replacement but with. A better eye for goal but not as good with the pressing link up. No issues with him tbh, just not at CM
That's bullsh!t for a start, they won't sell either. Valverde is a fantastic player, but I would suggest Sloz has that position covered. Tchou bloke turned us down just a season ago, don't see that changing
That no-neck bint (forget her name) is on there saying that players around the age of Lavia and Caeicedo have only ever seen City and Chelsea win trophies. I mean we literally won EVERY trophy, domestic and international, over the space of three seasons.
No, and I'm not too unhappy we missed out there. Lavia was a gamble. He might turn out great, but too young to know how fit he'll be etc. I hold no upset over missing out on Lavia. (or Caicedo). I am annoyed we haven't signed ANYONE in a timely manner for the defensive role... but another thing we don't know is ... how many bids/enquiries have we been making behind the scenes that no-one in the public knows about.
Been a while since Chelsea won anything hasn't it? Their drought is surely almost as long as United's.
They did win the CL and the CWC a couple of seasons back, tbf. That's not my point - she just lumped us in with United, Arsenal, and Spurs, literally a season after we were 2 goals from winning a ****ing quadruple.
