I heard 2 Leeds players refused to play today as they want out which is disgraceful. They were happy to play against us though
Aye, problem for Leeds is this is what happens nowadays when big clubs come sniffing around your players...
I thought Simon Hooper had a very good game up till then, but that decision was absolutely appalling. What was the matter with the VAR ref not even referring it to review? It was a clear and obvious error by Hooper and I felt so sorry for Gary O'Neil. Wolves were very, very good and deserved at least a point from that - Man U looked poor but got away with it again.
An absolute nonsense if a decision. Bad enough though marginally understandable, that it was missed by the ref but I thought VAR was there to pick up these situations. I like VAR in general, but I fear that human "judgement" is beginning to mar it's effectiveness. Felt gutted for Wolves.
Agree totally. I have to concur with you about Wolves style of play. They were excellent. None of this tippy tappy back and forward. They always looked to turn their opponents in midfield and we’re always pressing forward. They will see off a few teams this year and should be in a comfortable position come the end of the season. Now if only the Bluebirds …….
As this is the "other" football thread, Cardiff and Swansea under 21's are both playing away this afternoon. After 20 minutes, City are 2-0 down at Fleetwood and Jacks are 3-0 down at Barnsley.
City get one back - can't find the scorer yet. Now 3 - 1 to the Young Cods with 25 minutes to play. EDIT - Barnsley now gone 4 - 2 up against the Jacks
"Our" goal was a Fleetwood own goal - says it all really. https://www.fleetwoodtownfc.com/news/2023/august/report-dev-squad-v-cardiff-city/
I only saw 2nd half, and I too was impressed by how Wolves were through midfield; if only we had some ball carriers going forwards like theirs. As mentioned here often before we haven’t had one capable of that since Mutch.
Simon Hooper, the little, fat tw@t. Although he looks like he has slimmed down a bit. What did you expect? He has been consistently useless ever since we first had the dubious pleasure of his company. I have said frequently that he will not make crucial, game changing decisions. Case proven yet again. I see he and his VAR supporters have been dropped from next weekend's Premier officials list. With our luck we'll have him for our game.
I see Wrexham got their season under way last night. Now I'm a bit worried for County. I yearn for the day that all four Welsh clubs play in the same division and preferably higher than League One.
