Just a little bit of Nostalgia

I was looking through NUFC.com as usually do at some point each day and came across this game
that happened on this day back on the 14th August 1976




I was actually looking at the same programme I have here at work
only 10 pages thick and cost a whopping 12p
it wasn't my first game but it was very strange that I was reading it this morning
brought back some memories as I was one of the 15,703 fans there that day

I played the nick from school in 1973, I think it was, when we played Dundee in the same cup. Because of a power strike, it was played during the day.
Actually, it might have been the Texaco cup?

 

it was the Texaco Cup and our school was closed due to the power cuts, so didn't have to wag off school to go

 

You appear to be not young.

Sadly I've lost all the programs I used to have; my most treasured one was from 1993 away at Cambridge, when I managed to accost Andy Cole during the warm up and get him to sign my program. Good match, we strolled it 3-0.

A bit before my time, but I was there for this one.

Some Newcastle fans climbed up on the roof of their stand/shed and it collapsed ...

 

Middlesbrough away 96 league cup was my first game, lost 3-1.

Dunno what my dad's was but he was at the first leg of the fairs cup final.

 

Was sat on the cinder track for that one. At the Popular/Leazes corner. Great game and atmosphere.
