Thinking about acid rain, a couple of tracks allegedly referring to the psychedelic interpretation follow... Alice is in Wonderland, resting her head on her surrealistic pillow ! Also an episode of the Beeb's documentary (30 mins) "Portillo's State Secrets: 3. Celebrity and scandals" touches on the earlier trend in society...
Ah. I'll pretty much listen to any genre of music (except perhaps opera and some non-rock musicals ). Not having heard the term "thrash metal" despite my longevity. I had to google it's definition - seems to be a later derivative of acid rock (which I love) but the vocals style (I'd say "raw and lacking colour melodically") if the D.R.I. track is typical of the style. It would be low on my list of preferences despite the musical accompaniment being decent enough - in the attached track at least. To each his own I suppose.
That band Metallica which you may have heard of were one of the early purveyors of the genre with Anthrax and numerous other and 'crossover' bands like DRI who originall came from the 'hardcore' * punk scene Even good old Hull was one of the early enclaves with the band Reanimator... * Don't Google 'hardcore' or you may end up with more on your screen than you can explain away
