Seems logical to be fair. Starting place with us on a 5 year deal at 100k. Or a place on Chelsea’s bench with Lesley and santos in a similar age and position already shoved out on loan but on 150k and an 8 year contract. Edit- plus forgot about Casadei who they also signed for 15m in 2022. 20 year old midfielder who is going out on his second season on loan.
Was weird to see them over here for an away game. Think most people can see what Chelsea are doing is very dodgy so not sure what special information the owners have. But if the premier league are serious about enforcing FFP they have 3 chances to really punish a team (and not just a fine ) With Man City, Everton and Chelsea all currently under investigation. At the moment La liga seems more stringent on rules as they have been forcing Barcelona to play by the rules.
Why do you say that, surely it depends who buys? Ratcliffe and it's over but I wouldn't put it past the Saudi's as it's another way of funnelling funds. Don't think the Glazers are selling anyway.
if jh and Linda the legs are not in anfield for the test event tomorrow but could go to chav land then they can **** right off and never come back
I thought the test event was the reason that they've flown in. And doesn't he attend the first game at Anfield each year. The transfer stuff seems coincidental.
If we have anything about us we need to go match any payment Chelsea are making. I doubt the player wants more than 5 years anyway. to offer 5 mil more than cheslea (only twitter to beleive here) then low ball the play with 2/3rd what again tiwtter tells us cheslea offered would be just futile. Lets be clear that cheslea contract is is worth 62.4million pounds to the lad at 19. tax man takes half (he won't but anyway) He can retire on that and never even try a leg for chelsea. Our contract of 100k over 5 years is still great obviously and is 26million commitment. If we are told Henderson couldn't turn down the cash then why on earth would we turn round and deny a new signing it?
I utterly understand Lavia's position on this on many levels. Apart from the fact that we dicked about then bid nearly three times as much for another player, Chelsea is the go-to place now for any player, especially a 19-year-old who now has his future secured with a bumper 8-year contract. Apparently Hazard has been in his fellow Belgian's ear too (Dribs let us down there, not doing his bit to counter it!), so if you weigh all that up it's a no-brainer for the kid. All that said, and I don't normally stick up for FSG and our owners, we really aren't in a position to throw £50m at a 19-year-old without trying to get that down or making it subject to hefty add-ons. That's even with the Fab and Hendo money, and shifting £1m a week off our wage bill. Not with our strategy anyway, and unless we want to start maxing out on FFP (joke that it is) then here we are in Limboland. ****ed.
There may be more to this.....RM 'likely to make one available' says Secretscout (who has been reliable before)
as I said if you do not even bother matching the wage then why bother upping the fee until chelsea just say matched and laugh again. at least have the brains to match the wage over a shorter contract
Because we're Liverpool. Then again, there's no point doing an Everton and paying for it by fighting relegation for five years. We'll just have to accept it for what it is and a managed decline into the bottom half of the top of the table. Think we really need to concentrate on the UEFA this season though, certainly a lot more than the domestic cups. I can honestly see us resting players for league matches on Sundays next March to focus on the Europy if we're still in it, because I think Top Four will be miles off by then.
I'd take whoever it is Brighton have lined up to replace Caicedo. Don't know name or where from but I think he's going to be the next big thing . Outbid them now .....
Question. Do you honestly think Chelsea are operating within FFP? I don't. I suspect most Chelsea fans if they're honest don't either. Now, is it sportsman like to bitch to the authorities about another team? Probably, not... But if it's costing you tend of millions of currency, I can see why they might be a little bitchy and drop the good sportsmanship. All that said, I don't expect anything to come of this, I wouldn't worry. PL isn't going to dock you for breaking FFP. If they had wanted to enforce it, they would have enforced it with City. If they do take action against Chelsea you have a right to feel aggrieved that they made a point against you whilst ignoring the bigger offender.
