We were the much better side for thirty minutes but dropping off (Chelsea picking it up) for the last fifteen. Inevitable really, we're never going to dominate for ninety minutes. Time to go again...
what we have seen in every preseason game is thst once the first line is passed by sides can walk through us. Gallagher is just stood there with 3 cbs and our front 3 so they are easily getting out. then we withdraw diaz to almost a 442 and we surrender thr whole pitch to them we tactically changed there. we could have said gakpo go push but we didn't put him on gallagher. the sloppiness of some of our stuff in protecting possession or touch was shambolic before that (trent) but we saw enough to say we can walk through this shower of rubbish if we get about it. it's not all bad. it's just we have to be OK the front foot all game or we will just be destroyed by anyone
Need someone to help Robertson out, he's having to deal with James and Sterling. Its the problem of having a CF playing as the left sided mid.
I agree, we need to take the game to them and they don’t look great when we do that. Difficult to call this but we need to take the initiative back here
So nothing changes. We play well for the first 30 minutes then fall apart. It is going to be a long second half.
have to go all out or go home. what I see is this. goalkeeper out of his depth who won't come.off line cb who's on his last legs surrounded by very inexperience others. two wing backs who don't defend a young lad who's not good enough at cm in chunky a lad no cheslea fan wants in gallaher. we are stood off them, putting no pressure at all on the likes of sterling who cheslea fans lambast and making him.look good as well. get the lines up the park amd kick the ****ers out of our half. no yellows for our cms or defenders tells me all I need to know so far. the only player putting it about is Szoboszlai and macallister but only when fernandez comes near him (he must hate thr guy)
as I said in preseason thread it looks exactly like it was v bayern and those.other games where sides were free to walk through us but we can score if we are bothered. I also said it was.more worrying this is the best we can do after 6 weeks preseason irrespective of signings.
In the seasons we won things,we would always do better second half, even if we were poor the first half. We really need some of that second half magic again.
Saying gakpo needs to come off. Just done absolutely nothing in that midfield role. Given Jones end to the season I’m surprised he’s not in the team. Either gakpo off for Jones, or Jota off and gakpo to move up top

he's decent but you cannot retreat to your line like that. Chelsea have gotten worse there after the summers business. as for the rest we can embarrass them.or embarrass ourselves.
He got replaced midway through last season and then had a mardy. Just ask the Brighton fans about him, most were glad to get rid.
