Want to get these big outs sorted asap now. We need to get working on outs for our lesser wanted players like Lyanco, Tall Paul, Aribo etc. and of course a few ins too! 2.5 weeks of the transfer window to go!
I really think Che could absolutely smash it this season. Given the money we’re taking elsewhere, possibly worth keeping for one last season and releasing if we stay down but presumably he’d stay if we went back up.
We need a bigger squad with all these yellows we are picking up, how long until we have 2/3 out serving a match ban.
We have a massive squad still, just unfortunately half of it is **** and/or doesn’t want to be here! Still expect quite a few outs and a few ins before the window shuts. We can’t and I’m sure won’t continue to pick up yellows at the current rate. Getting them for kicking the ball away and dissent should be fairly easy to stop and with a proper DM in there we won’t have tides of players running at the defence so much.
I wonder whether we are going off the flashes we saw early on where he looked the real deal and got in the Germany squad. He really wasn’t impressive after that and seemed to always be injured. If clubs thought he was the player he appeared to be in the first couple of months of last season there would be a surge in £25m offers (if that is indeed his release clause). It would be bargain Maybe a lower fee lets us stick a nice sell on clause in which would be a good thing to do with Dortmund. Release clauses being met usually mean no further clauses can be added
£20m seems fair to me considering ABK's arms seem to pop out of their sockets on the regular. Double your money on a defender in a side which finished stone cold last. Also the good thing with Dortmund is you know they've got a considerable track record in developing and then selling for huge money, rather than holding on. Get a nice sell-on % in that deal and it might end up being another £5m-£10m down the line too.
I get the impression that ABK and Sulemana are in the Salisu school of injury wantaways. If ABK doesn’t want to stay, sell up for the £20m + sell on clause, and work to get a first choice ready CB who can compete with Stephens and Bedders.
So obviously Che is expected to leave, for Prem football and to double his wages. If he goes from 15k to 30k per week, then that's an extra 780k over the year. But if he runs his contract down, then won't he be able to demand a signing on fee next summer worth millions? Could it actually be better for him, financially, to stay with us one more year?
Why do you think he’s only on 15k a week? Would’ve guessed more like 50/60 prior to relegation, no idea if he had a wage decrease in his contract
Possibly, but if he ****s his knee or something while playing for us that long game is shot and he’s out of contract. If there’s a big contract on offer somewhere he should absolutely want to go and take that guaranteed money.
A few sites have his wages at 30k, I suppose going to a prem club - like his middle name - could double them.
That's fair enough. But of course, if he doesn't have that serious injury, then he could potentially earn even more. He's fairly comfortable by now, been earning a good salary for a long while, so he might as well take the risk. If he was only 18, starting out etc, I would say take the contract.
