I think Tottenham will surprise plenty of people and be fine this season. I think the impetus in his style will please the fans and can see Richarlison stepping up quite a bit. Honestly don't think you'll be involved in much of a relegation fight at all.
A lot of Spurs fans don’t like to admit it but the players just aren’t that good. Kane accounted for 43% of league goals last season. Add in an awful defence with new faces that will take time to settle in (Van de Ven & Udogie) and the manager seemingly wanting to be more attacking and I see Spurs conceding a lot of goals again without scoring as many as last year. I honestly think anywhere between 9th or 13th is where Spurs will finish this season with probably just as many losses as wins.
Any combination of 5 or more words would probably be a repetition of something you've said on here in fairness @Sucky Don't even mean that as a slight btw.
Richarlison has never stepped up his whole career. If he wasn’t Brazilian then people wouldn’t ‘rate’ him at all
Thanks mate. The reassurance means a lot coming from people with first hand experience of relegation and relegation battles.
I agree ... Richarlison was a real talent at Watford and can see him stepping up now that he will be the main man ... and with Madders creating for him and Son they will be very dangerous... and van de Ven is some unit ...
People saying he will step up and score goals for Spurs. He can’t be any worse than last season but I’d be very surprised if he got 15 leagues goals (even that is only half of what Kane got)
Udogie is very highly rated and Van de Ven I hadn't heard of prior to you buying him but seems well regarded too. The issue is always that ideally you graft these players onto a functioning unit over time; trying to get a few playing together all at once nearly never works (not saying it can't). Add in a new manager and everyone needs to be realistic about the timescales involved, a reverse season to last year (so starting badly and then improving as the season goes on) would be grand for you. On the plus side you've only got one really bad fixture in the first 6-7 games so you may come through ok.
Oh I'm certainly not underestimating Brentford, especially as they are unbeaten without Toney. Just would like Spurs to get off to a good start with Son as Captain.
