Mike Dean I think. Reckon Atkinson will give your lot another man advantage against Chelsea? ;)

Odds tend to go out of the window in matches like these - a lot depends on how Swansea set themselves up. If they make a game of it they will be vulnerable on the counter, but I can't see them setting up to try and shut us out for 90 minutes.

Swarbs we don't approach games to put 11 men as defenders, we will take it to you and try to score, if we get slaughtered so be it, but there will be no team bus parked on the pitch

I was particularly referring to the part of your quote which said "...scrape a s..tty 1 - 0 with a deflected last minute penalty". THAT's what's odds-on <ok>

If they can get tickets. United have the biggest away following in the league with the allocation massively over subscribed every week and tickets allocated by ballot. These are the local Manchester lads too.
After that the touts are out there tying to get hold of tickets from locals to supply to United fans, which is where this rumour that many season ticket holders at Swansea were offered a refund of the value of the season ticket for this match alone. Depends how many takers there were, I doubt there were many, but you might find a few reds in the Swansea sections.

Craven cottage, Wigan and Bolton are three where we far outnumber the home fans.

We are not loads of teams mate - be sure to come back and say "fair play they didn't park the bus after the game.."

Again, one thing I know, you'll not out number the Jacks at the Liberty!

I agree, I can't for the life of me think why anyone would have wanted to off load their ticket. Maybe one or two here and there but that'd be it.

You obviously didn't watch us against man city, arsenal and Chelsea then, we were playing away but still took the game to them, trust me we won't park the bus on the pitch it's against our philosophy of football .

There may be a few reds there, one thing is for sure they won't be wearing your colours as they will be refused entry, the club has said as much on the official site, and forgive me for saying this, I just don't understand people who support anyone but their home team, I have always supported the swans, and nobody else.

I'll give you another clue, there's a big building on Oystermouth Road right next door to Singleton Hospital.

I am not saying anything, but let's face it the bigger teams in the premier league takes football fans of say Swansea for example, away from the city they are from, so we have lots of man utd, liverpool, arsenal and Chelsea fans here, they spend money on these clubs but not their own!

And they line up the usual excuses, my local team is crap, my dad, brother, uncle , cousin etc support them (big 6) so do I , and the one that really grates me is they try and justify the fact that they are plastic fan by saying the number of years they have supported these teams!

Basically the big 6 leach fans from other places, the reason these teams struggle is because very often they are not well supported, clubs go to the wall because of it, and the crapiness continues because these so called fans just say that their local team is crap, it's partly their fault!

And for the record I am not being disrespectful here, just stating facts as I see them, so just IMHO

You have a very valid point, it just doesn't apply to me. I live down here because this is where I came to college and the Swans have a big place in my heart, I was at Vetch when they beat Hull to stay in the league and I went to Wembley for the play off final, plus many more in between.

BUT, I am a Manchester United fan who supports his local team, simple as that.

Lads I used to work with who at that time were, allegedly, 'massive' Liverpool and Blackburn fans are now super massive Swansea fans!! You should see their FB updates, it is ridiculous and those are the types you should quite rightly be hugely pissed off with. I'd bet my house I went to far more Swansea games than they did over that last decade.

    ****ing glory hunters!!!

I understand you from Manchester so support your local team, and I respect that truly but what connection would I for example have to Manchester Utd if I supported them ?

I am from Swansea, I have supported them since I was about 7-8 so that is over 35 years, I have never been to old trafford, I have never seen the team live, but I am a Utd fan ! Where is the connection ? My dad supported Utd that is why !

It's all very sad for me who has was down the vetch with just a few thousand there, but some mates were in the pub watching utd, and calling me a twat for going to watch a crap team when I could have been in the warm with a beer, my answer to them was the team may be crap, but they are my crap team , how can you honestly say utd are your team ?

And by the way you can replace utd with any of the top 6 sides, I am not having a go at your club specifically just the way that it's happened that these fans are only interested in the swans because they are playing top teams now, and probably want the top teams to beat their home towns.

I agree, what can I say.

These Swansea lads who support Liverpool or United or whoever probably never expected Swansea to get where they are now. I think it's worse that some now appear to be jumping on the Swansea bandwaggon rather than sticking to their chosen adoptive team. For me they have forsaken their right to get involved now by virtue of never having got involved when the Swans were ****.

You've probably hit the nail right on the head there. Sad fact, there are simply some people out there who don't support a football club cos it's their home club, but because they think it's the club that give them the best chance of celebrating wins as often as possible and getting one up on their mates. It says more about the person than the club they support imo.

That said, my daughter was born in Moscow three years ago and we moved back to Manc in August. Within the next year or so we will probably have moved down south as my wife has a better chance of getting work down there. But my daughter will always be a Utd fan wherever we live, I will make sure of that. So I guess another difference is that if I were supporting a less successful team it would be harder to convince her to follow them if we didn't live near the ground any more.

Thanks glad to see that you are not taking it as wum on your team, just my thoughts on football support in general <ok>

In regards to Moscow, my wife is from there, I have 2 daughters one of which speaks three languages fluently , my youngest is only 1 but being brought up the same ;) I lived in Moscow for 3 and half years, and spend 4 and a half in Kiev, so have a lot of connections there as you can understand, small world mate ;)

Looking forward to the game! Won't be there as I live in Basingstoke, but I think we (Swansea) are going to have a real good go! We're playing United in the Premier League... unbelievable after the dark days! I can remember going down the Vetch to watch some horrific matches, but the love affair started there! Now I get to watch my home town team take on the League Champions, awesome stuff.

On to the game, expect nothing but football from our team. There will be times in the game where we'll need to defend in numbers, that's the same in every game, but if you think we'll "park the bus" for a sustained period, it just won't happen - we haven't got the players for it! 3 of our midfielders are under 5'6! We wouldn't be parking a bus, it'd be more like parking a BMW Z4 with the roof down! Our wingers are fast, very fast. They will be our main outlet when we are under pressure. Unlike Blackpool, we aren't so 'gung-ho'. We'll be more patient on the ball - a lot of our play will be on the half way line or even slightly in our half, but the pace that we have in the final third will allow us to pounce very quickly if you switch off during our sometimes boring on the eye possession play. Again, unlike Blackpool, who attacked at will and were susceptible to counter attacks, you'll find that we actually defend well (most clean sheets so far this season and only 1 goal conceded at home in 5 games) and will be more of a threat on the counter attack than worried about being counter attacked.

But it's United, and I honestly can't see anything other than a United win. I'd probably say 0-2 or 1-3 will be the score. However, if we can get the first goal and get our foot on the ball to get some confidence, we could well frustrate United and maybe snatch a late goal on the counter attack to secure a 2-0 win. But as I said, 0-2 or 1-3 more likely.

    Can't wait!

Sorry to plagiarise bits of your song guys, but "This is the one, This is the one, We're waiting for"
Cannot bleedin wait and would cream me pants if we get a point or 3.

PS Technically we do live in a valley as the whole of Swansea / the river Tawe was created by glaciation in the Ice Age along the Cribarth Disturbance (a complex fault line). The stadium itself is between two hills created by this glaciation. It may not be as extereme a V shape valley as the Upper Swansea Valley, but that is to be expected due to the natural effects of glaciation as it moves towards the sea. The city centre itself is part of the original floodplain of the valley. It is still part of the valley though.

    Just my opinion though!

    PS 2-1 Swansea (please, please)

PPS good luck with your title hunt (after our game of course)
