Hoping the players will see this game as an opportunity for revenge. It still wrangles that they were able to come to our place and win.
Like the look of this line up Think Timber could be very good signing. Hopefully we will see Eddie step up and do the business. Can't wait Coyg
HT. 2-0. Took a bit of time to get into our stride and connect the play fluidly, but after that Martinelli magic for the 1st goal, we came into our own and have dominated entirely. What a second goal by Saka too by the way. Let’s try and grab a couple more to kill it off now.
2-1. Really poor this half and we seem to be very lethargic/disjointed. Not sure why. Timber’s injury didn’t look too clever, either, and a lot of our stability seems to have gone with him off the pitch. Good counter from Forest, but White really should have done better there. Not a good goal to concede at all
Frustrating that it’s even got to this point because we’ve dominated the game and now we’ve allowed them an avenue back into the match due to our lack of ruthlessness/taking our foot off the pedal.
Although looking back at it, Havertz had a head injury just before Forest broke away - shouldn’t the game have been stopped?
FT. 2-1. How we went from being in absolute control to ending the game in serious nailbiting fashion I will never know. We really need to kill games off better and manage games with more maturity when we’re under pressure. The experimental stuff from Arteta was quite uninspiring, but it is only the 1st game of the season. However, we will need to play a lot better than that if we want to compete for the big trophies because that second half wasn’t impressive at all. Martinelli and Saka were the standout players, everyone else was just a bit ok. Rice clearly isn’t fully fit and Havertz was non-existent for most of the match. Lots to work on… Hoping Timber’s injury isn’t serious because we’re already racking them up and it’s only been 1 game.
I'll take it. Shouldn't have conceded but to be fair they didn't get many chances in the game. Haverts and Rice still settling in. Hope we go back to the 4-3-3 type system next game.
It's funny how the English Media have an agenda against certain foreign players. Right now Kai Haverts is one of those - He wasn't great.. but he certainly wasn't bad. It feels like they are looking to jump on any poor decision or action made by the guy. The same thing happened with Xhaka and that contributed to his fall-out with the fans. Every little action over analysed in a way that most players don't get.
I am getting really sick of it and some of our ‘fans’ are joining in. Havertz did just fine. Another day he gets 2 assists.
Pretty much sums up Havertz's time at Chels. Arteta will need to find another gear in that lad if he wants to justify that signing. For us he would do **** all for 3 games, then he'd pop up with a great goal in one game, then be nonexistent for another 3 games. Problem is, his best position is as a 10, and you already have a better player than him in that position. Which is why that signing puzzled so many people, unless Arteta plans to utilise him elsewhere. He is decent cover for your squad as he can play anywhere in a front 3 really, but generally Arsenal dont pay £65m for squad padding.
Very frustrating. He had such a promising start and looked like he'd fit the team like a glove. Such a shame, but I wish him a speedy recovery. Also means we have to go back into the market to sign another player now that he's out for the season.
