    Approx 4m I think

Those you mention may be or may want to be sold if they come down though. I suppose it really depends on the gaffer/clubs longer term view on him. They may want to see how he (hopefully) performs over a full season before making a choice on his future. If they have already made their mind up then you may well see a £10+ sell on agreed, but it's rather pointless as I doubt we would or could pay it

I agree about the senior lads but not Vaughan and Covil. I'd definitely keep them around. They're still very young and there's really no rush.

I'm really big on HV but I never wanted him to be our 'starter' on the wing, it's a lot of pressure. 15/20 cameos and the occasional start is fine at this stage of his career and with the 9 on the bench I think Covil will be on there regularly too

We would if we went up, i know i know majority think mid table or relegation battlers but you have to be optimistic that's why some do the lottery.

Potentially, but if we go up, we'll be fishing in a whole different pond as I'd expect some serious investment from a certain billionaire

There would be serious investment yes and probably change of hands, but if Twine has an outstanding season and the club can pick him up for say £10 mill they will why would they go pay £20 mill for someone who might not be as good and they obviously feel he is a bright talent.

There are widely known valuations on Oscar and Greaves also.

Seems to have gone quiet on that front through.

We'd have accepted an offer for Ali and doc already if they weren't currently injured.

We need the billionaires investment now! :emoticon-0102-bigsm Once already in the Prem we’ll have that sweet sweet sky money and we could easily court any bored billionaire by that time

And if those are sold then they'll have even more funds to reinvest. I just don't think they'd be concerned with holding onto Twine just in case they come down. It's also why I think the fee would be a reasonable sell on fee so that they're protected in that eventuality. If they paid 4m for him, I wouldn't be shocked if there was a fee in the region of 8m, and perhaps 12m if we're promoted or something like that.

They're kids who need playing, not getting minutes off the bench. I think being in the starting team for a League One side and playing each week would help their development far more, and I don't think it's something we're looking likely to offer.

Burnley looked quite good against Man City. I’ll be quite surprised if they go down. They play a possession-based style of football playing out from the back patiently under Kompany and they stuck to it against the best team in the world who also play possession-based football and didn’t do too bad at all.

Possession-based football and playing out from the back can work brilliantly but the team need to be confident doing it. We haven’t looked confident doing it lately. There were times we looked confident and sharp doing it last season but we seem to have regressed a bit during pre-season and in our first two games this season.

This is regularly posted as if it's easy to find L1 suitors who'll guarantee minutes. We struggle to find L2 clubs to give our youngsters minutes, never mind L1 and it's being shown again already this season. Cartwright has gone to Grimsby and started the season off as the no.2 and Nixon has gone to Donny and wasn't included in the squad in their first league game.

If a L1 club comes along and is happy to guarantee minutes, it's another argument but I'm really not sure. HV's also done a fair bit of moving around recently and a period of stability is probably the safer option.

I also don't think they need to worry about playing tonnes of minutes right now, they're both still very young and I'd be happy for them to stick around and physically develop a bit more before going out on loan. Shelbourne is a great landing spot for Covil in January ahead of their new season, we're seeing already that our lads are getting proper minutes and really starting to impress.

Also if Longman and Allahyar go, it only leaves us with one backup winger which seems extremely naive too

Loaning out someone who was regularly starting for us last season is a touch different to loaning out kids from our Academy don't you think? If we loaned Longman to League One do you think he'd be sat on a bench most weeks?

But we're talking about Vaughan and Covil.

    Longman's obviously different

I was using Longman as an example of another player who played decent minutes for us last season who we're also looking to loan out. Again, Vaughn and Covil were around the first team squad last season, they aren't 'random' Academy kids that lack exposed form in League football. I'm not suggesting Vaughn and Covil would be walk up starts at Derby and play 46 games, but they could surely go to a Burton or Blackpool or Wigan and play a lot more football than here.

I take your point on Vaughn having moved around a lot, but he was with us all of last season wasn't he? I don't think moving out to a Barnsley or something would harm him too much given their proximity, or someone else reasonably local.

I know spelling pedantry is tedious, but I think it's noteworthy that people are spelling Harry Vaughan's surname the way that Vaughn Covil's first name is spelled, whilst writing about them both side by side.

Actually it isn't is it. Never mind.

Jesus, I honestly thought it was spelt Vaughn, how have I never noticed that. I'm usually one of the first to get triggered by other people misspelling names (Maguire probably the one that sets me off the most).

    Long read on here tonight.

I thought Tuesday was a disaster and was worried about the state of where things will be later today after the game against The Massive.

Yet I now have a strange sense of optimism. I’m feeling a battering of them and then help will be on the way with Twine & Co.

UTT. Still 135 points to play for!

    Acun doesn't have backers, remember?

Even though he doesn't however. I'm sure his non existent backers will be putting pressure on a managerial decision in a couple of months if we're still as **** as against Donny.
