I just don’t get the Pro Ronaldo, anti Messi thing (and vice versa)

I personally think Ronaldo has been a better overall player simply as he’s proved it at multiple top countries. Messi stayed in one league then went to Mickey Mouse leagues. But both were absolutely phenomenal footballers which we were all privileged to have seen.

 

Winding up ronaldo fans is one of my favourite things to do, theres one at my work n hes so easy to noise up about messi being the GOAT. The world cup ended his argument about ronaldo being better than messi

Here's some random stats regarding the women's football in this WC..copied from another forum, discussing the skill levels of Women's .football v's Men's etc.

There has been two penalty shootouts to establish who progresses to the next round.

Sweden v USA
England v Nigeria

Sweden v USA - 14 penalties taken - 9 scored - 5 missed.
England v Nigeria - 9 penalties taken - 6 scored - 3 missed.

Overall - 23 penalties taken - 15 scored - 8 missed.

The argument ended with a joint agreement that if it was a men's shootout, then the total stats would not show over half the penalties would have been missed.

And they also added that over half of those 8 missed penalties, 5, actually missed the target altogether.

Wow, I didn't realise that mind...

So according to Carragher, it's not a penalty if you hold onto the opposition players arm for a short time in the box! FFS what is football coming to?

 

think that haaland could use a season in the championship to get up to speed like.

 

I did laugh out loud when I heard him say that.

FA rule 6.1.1(a) holding an opponents arm for 2.6 seconds is perfectly fine. However anything over this should be a penalty.
