well we need to walk away now because this couldnt get more embarrassing. To continue the wedding analogy, its like waiting at the altar in case the bride that dumped you changes her mind back again, even after she told you that she was leaving with anotger feller and you saw them going off in his car.

Would we want him now? The most expensive signing in our history, knowing he's only here because Chelsea are maxed out on FFP? ( Though the Tyler Adams business suggests they will scrape together the £11m from somewhere).

Just put a statement out now that we were misled and we're walking away now. All we're doing now is acting like a shill for Brighton's auction. Buy Lavia and go all out for Tchumeani- but if he says no we haven't lost as much face as this.

Honestly, we don't know what is happening behind the scenes and what the real motivations at play are. We only have the speculation of some journalists who are parroting each other.

This could all be speculation based on the fact that he recently said he wanted to go to Chelsea and hasn't completed signature with us yet. Even if he does prefer Chelsea to us, that's not reason for me to not want him if we can still get him... it's probably nothing personal, he probably prefers to be in a larger city. Doesn't mean he couldn't grow to love our club or living in the NW- or that he'd be any less a player for us.

I'm not devastated if he doesn't come to us, but I would still be happy if he did. (I think our chances are slim though).

Why is he suddenly the de-facto voice of this summer's transfer window? Every article I read seems to be quoting his opinion, and he's been wrong more than right. He seems to be the man to quote this year though.

 

Doesn't really matter. You don't agree terms and book player in for a medical and pull out. The fee was £20m! I'm sure Chelsea must have been really struggling to arrange the terms for that gigantic sum (football fee related comment obviously because it is a gigantic sum to everyone else).
