He’s not blameless but he’s being really poorly advised. His new agents only in charge for a few weeks before the arsenal stuff kicked off last Jan with the statements from him saying how he wants to go there etc. Theyre clearly really badly advising him. He’s only 21, in foreign country with no friends and family around and these guys meant to be looking out for the player. I’m sure he’s a lovely humble guy, but he’s coming across as a spoiled money grabbing twat and that’s mainly down to his agents.
lets all get back on the optimists thread. This **** is going to implode with a salah to Saudi story within the day. we all know full well theres only one reason lfc can throw a bid like that in. same reason why VVD arrived.
Jimmy, the player has allowed Chelsea to tell him to reject Liverpool and go back to Brighton and say he wants to go to Chelsea if they match Liverpool's bid. Firstly, they wouldn't have done that if they weren't going to do that unless they were prepared to match our bid, and secondly, why on earth would we want him now? Most of all though, there's no way on God's green earth that Brighton will not bank £111m+ three weeks before the window closes. It's over. We lost.
its noon. noon on the Friday before the weekend in question. an important rule in bygone days but rarely an issue these days.
Yeah, Brighton will deffo turn down £111m+ 3 weeks before the transfer window closes out of some sort of obligation to us. The player doesn't want to come to us, and we should have known that before we utterly humiliated ourselves. The best we can hope for now is that he signs for Chelsea, catches leprosy, infects their whole squad and then Uefa and the FA eventually grow balls and close Chelsea down for breaking FFP. Not that I'm bitter.
I don't get the 'he only wants to go to Chelsea ' argument either because in January he only wanted to go to Arsenal, then signs a big new deal. Also been talk of his 'people' not wanting to travel from London to Liverpool for a medical when we actually have an office in London specifically for carrying out medicals. All a bit odd. Deadline drama three weeks early.
It's all a bit weird. 24 hours from now we'll probably no more. I still feel like there is a sliver of a chance he comes to us... and if he doesn't. £110m should be enough to cover a DM and a RB. We know the money is there now (although unfortunately, so does everyone else).
The thing that could work in our favor is the relationship between Bloom & Chelsea. Chelsea are obviously pushing the agent to do this under the table. Bloom has to be livid after thinking things were done last night.
Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has spoken about midfielder Moises Caicedo, who is being chased by Liverpool and Chelsea: "I have already forgotten about Moises. I'm really proud of the players we have in the squad. We want to keep improving. The credit goes to the club. Bigger clubs can buy our players but they can't buy our soul or spirit."
