I think the love in from people is a bit premature but doesn’t surprise me… he’s always popular with fans at previous clubs - and Leeds fans are always **** or bust about players/managers. I’m more the shades of grey type. But I was happy with him as an appointment and have seen nothing to change my mind. My caveat was him needing Teemu Pukki to get promoted twice, as his sides aren’t usually watertight - so I’m watching to see where the goals will come from. But as always bud, will judge on performances/efficiency over time rather than the fickle nature of results! And there was promise in the performance last week.
Fair enough Personally I'm liking what I'm seeing on the touchline as he's actually coaching and giving the players instructions throughout the game. Hopefully that will be required less as the team and the season develops. Seems a good fit all round and so even if we don't have a great season this time around I'd definitely give him another go before questioning the appointment. Also if we hadn't managed to attract Farke then we'd likely be in a proper mess right now as his experience and man management of the group both collectively and individually appears key at this stage. In other words he's a very solid individual who the players respect.
Tough run of fixtures!!! Shouldn't be but I fear they will be. Most of the opponents are bottom half sides come season's end. Only "tough" games are Ipswich (maybe), Millwall, Soton and Watford (maybe). Birmingham Leeds Leeds WBA Ipswich Leeds Leeds Sheff W Millwall Leeds Hull Leeds Leeds Watford Soton Leeds Leeds QPR Leeds Bristol City
Although some think our squad makes us a shoe-in for promotion I don’t think he’s walked into an easy job/circumstances and whatever happens this calendar year I’ll cut him some slack. Sometimes it gels quick, sometimes it takes longer. In terms of what we see on the sidelines and what the players think. Honestly unless you know someone in the dressing room giving an inside track, I personally don’t read anything into it. But he does come across as a solid guy.
based on what I saw last season, with exception of sheff wed (a derby game) I reckoned likely top half teams up to qpr game. I guess tough is relative!
I know what the table says fella. Hull were the form team at the end of the season… and I’m expecting Birmingham to be improved this season. Generally you don’t want promoted teams early in the season. Between Cardiff and QPR I personally don’t think they’re easy. No prob with you thinking differently
Yeah, Hull finished strongly. The keeper they had on loan turned things around for them. Birmingham have added to their squad after their financial troubles.
Statement. Earlier this week, Willy Gnonto and his representatives were informed by the club that he would not be sold this summer. Following those conversations, Willy felt he was unable to play in Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup tie with Shrewsbury Town. Despite training for the last two days, Willy has informed Daniel Farke that he still does not feel able to play this weekend and has not travelled to Birmingham for the game tomorrow. This is now an internal disciplinary matter and the club will make no further comment, other than to reiterate that Willy Gnonto is not for sale.
Meslier is being featured on Leeds social media page for today. Looks like he is still with us and starting.
Loads of rumours circulating that Sinisterra has not travelled with the squad for todays game. Some have jumped on the band wagon saying he too has refused to play others questioning fitness Just rumours though, I’m hoping he has travelled, without him and Gnonto and Summerville injured we are light in the only position we were strong in against Cardiff
